Holy moly!

Holy moly! It's been 3 months since I was in here... I gained weight during the holidays but I'm working hard to get it off!! So far I've lost 10 lbs. I'm pretty proud of myself, the only bad thing is I got hurt. :( I'm going to have to take some time off my insanity work out. It truly is insane, but I feel it's working!

I'm back and I'm not going away this time. I have a considerably larger amount of weight to lose this time around, but the bottom line is I just need to get healthy. Hopefully I will be able to step away from the scale and do it to feel better, and in the end the scale will reflect all my hard work.

    I get obsessed with the scale! I find that a once-a-week or a bi-weekly weigh-in seems to work best. But measurements and photos, too! Just using the scale can be a real downer, but if you take measurements every time you weigh in, you'll see a loss on the tape even if there isn't a loss on the scale. Photos once a month seem to work well, too :)

    The scale is my frenemy!!! I have recently decided to stop weighing myself daily. I thought it would be way harder to NOT weigh daily but so far it's been ok. I guess it's ben like a month since I started. Now I try to only weigh myself once a week. Hang in there!!! You can do this!! We all can!!!

    Welcome back! You're absolutely correct that the main goal is to be healthy and feel better. That's a hard motivator, though, because there's no tangible gratification. It helps to actually SEE some progress along the way. So find what works for you and just remember that anything is better than nothing!

so i'm 14 weeks pregnant... that's why i haven't been on in forever... i won't be on here very much at all until after i have my baby. i hope i come back ready to lose all the weight! it's gonna be hard, i'm sure, but hopefully i'm up to it!

    I just wanted to let you know i am sure you already know but sparkpeople actually has an additional web site soley for pregnant women called babyfit. It was great when I was pregnant my little man is 4 months old. I just thought it would be nice to share, also congragats.

    Don't forget that it's not just about being skinny, because skinny people can be just as unhealthy. If you like to read (and I know it's hard to do while in school) I suggest you read a book called The Mood Cure. It's amazing the effect diet and exercise have on your brain and the moods you have. What you eat can actually make you depressed and/or anxious. Anyhow, it's a read I recommend to everyone.

Hope the exercise is going well, also!
