If I loved tomorrow yesterday, I love today even more!

I start to feel like myself again! emoticon

Today we had to pick our scooter up from the shop in Benidorm, and we made that into an active day in stead of what it could have been; taking the car there, picking the scooter up and going home again.

What we did was this:
Went for a long walk by the beach and up in a nature park called "Sierra Helada" where I have never gone before and it was wonderful and a bit unrealistic.

We started from the bus station in Benidorm. Through the old town with a lot of shops and cafs, down to the beach (a lot of people sunbathing today).
emoticon
Walked all along the Levante beach where the Little England emoticon is with all their pubs. Saw as many drunken englishmen as I could take! emoticon

From there we left the beach and went up hill and the world changed as we turned to the park.

It was quiet and relaxing. The only ones there where people enjoying the beautiful day, and seagulls hanging in the air above us. When we reached the old tower at the end of the track we had the med sea in front and on both sides of us, and the mountain behind us.

It felt like we had come in to another world and that the busy Benidorm was not only a couple of km away.

We stood there breathing in the salty air looking at the sea for a minute and then we headed back to get the scooter and go home. My steptracker tells me we walked 16 km today. Not bad for a lazy monday!

"Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow..."

Sunday, February 20, 2011

This week my body really let me down! As the mind is happy and ok let the body take the blame for a not very active week. emoticon
Yesterday I was so tired that when hubby said he wanted us to go for what used to be my favourite long walk by the sea to the lighthouse I just looked at him. Tired!
Well we did it!

Your hubby clearly helped you to see the sunshine in your life, your surroundings.

Mine too was special yesterday and encouraged me and our children to go to the park early to play football and netball in case it rained, it was cold and murky but it turned out to be lovely family time and made me emoticon

Hope your week continues to have emoticon

Good for you! Right now I'd love to get motivated enough to go out for a run or walk but I'm looking out at the dark gray (and cold!) sky and it's just not motivating me enough.

I've noticed a few squirrels scampering across my fence/yard but they're wearing their fur coats. I've not got one!

Congratulations on doing that walk and earning the 'tired'! It does our body good!

Energy can come from the strangest things!

Friday, February 18, 2011

Today, as yesterday, Ive been feeling this lack of energy but today the sun shone and that made a great difference.
emoticon
Went for a nice walk in the surroundings and spotted the first squirrel Ive seen since we moved here. That made me smile and gave me energy to take on the hills.
Nature can really charge the batteries!
The sun was shining, a lot of flowers in bloom and bees buzzing around, even some butterflies playing put on a show for us in the air. emoticon

Maybe it wasnt much of a workout but it sure added to my well being!

You inspire me to go looking at the weather forecast... we have a cold spell but this should peak today and turn into melting temperatures during the weekend. The sun is shining and that makes it really beautiful outside but it is too cold...!

Body in a black hole!

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Something isnt right.
My energy is sucked up by the universe before I can use it.
emoticon
Weve been struggling with a very stubborn cold that wont go away, but can that be all it is?
I dont feel like exercising - and usually I love it. My heart pounds like its about to leave the chest during the cardio. (As Ive got the strap on I know the HR is ok).

My body is so tired and boring! It doesnt want to do anything. emoticon
I feel like Ive got the flu, but dont have any other symptoms.
Should I rest and hope that its what the body need or should I try to stay on schedule and hope for it to wake up and join me?

Today we had such terribly stormy weather I stayed in and used the elliptical for 45 min that felt like 3 hours. Tomorrow I think Ill just take a nice long walk. emoticon
Hopefully in the morning Ive got my old up-for-anything body back and this lazy thing leaves while Im sleeping! emoticon

I know how you feel! Today I was the same way, but once I got my clothes on and turned on the video and started up, it was a whole lot easier. I'm glad I did now too. I think that rainy weather does me in. Maybe that's what happened to you today. Hopefully, it'll be pretty and sunny outside tomorrow. Have a good walk! emoticon

Puh! Muscles are still in there somewhere

Saturday, February 12, 2011

I took the easy way out for a couple of weeks and puh! emoticon was it hard to come back to the schedule!
Felt like this emoticon and before the visit that made me (hmm, blaming the circumstances... ayayay) lose my way I felt so good! emoticon

At last Im back and feeling the muscles again. Strange how they seem to disappear in only such a short time. Now my stomach feels strong and tight again. Yesterday after workout my arms were shaking. Embarrassing! emoticon
Same weight and same reps as a month ago and shaking!

Conclusion:
It was easy to lose myself and hard to get back on track BUT the body responded surprisingly quick to it all again. Ill try to keep in mind how hard it was start over and tell myself that there isnt much thats worth it! Interesting information to have should I be tempted to take another of these "lazy episodes" or get sick.

Good food for thought here. It makes me think about how doing a little (safely) when I am sick or injured is way better than doing nothing. Use it or lose it. Good post!
