Feeling great!

Friday, March 13, 2009

Perhaps it was the beach vacation in the middle of the winter, but fter a long time at a I even dare to say it.......the scale finally moved. Haven't written it, because perhaps it's too good to be true. But after a week it seems it's not going back up yet. I must admit, it feels GREAT!

This is the first time in recent memory I've gone away and actually came back weighing less than when I left. Was it the body surfing, or the getting LOTS of sleep that did it? I don't know, but I'm glad it finally happened!

Now to just keep up the good habits now I'm home and back to work!

So, how many times can you fall off the wagon and still make progress? Answer: obviously not 3 weeks worth. How is it physically possible to gain 7 pounds in less than 3 weeks!!! Argh!

But there is hope. I've decided to start the women's health fitplan workout. Looking forward to the change in pace. If there's one thing I can't take, it's monotony (sp?) in a workout. I always seem to be changing, but if you ask my husband, apparently it's the symptom of my personality type (one who flits from item to item before finally coming back to complete one started long ago :-) )

So, here goes another shot. It's been 4 years since I hit my goal weight and in that time I've fluctuated within about 10 pounds up and down over an over. I think it's what keeps me sane! Knowing that it doesn't matter if you take breaks. Enjoy them while they last, just don't let them become your new lifestyle!

What to do?

I've loved being the administrator for a sparkteam called The Fat Fighter Challenge Boot Camp. 2 weeks ago we split into 2 teams for points tracking. But as soon as we did this, we lost 90% of the participation in the team! This week I switched the group back to 1 team.

Now I'm looking for suggestions on how to get the involvement back in the team. I feel like I've let them down a little somehow. I REALLY want it to be a success for us all. Any ideas?

Almost in average shape!

Friday, April 11, 2008

I was curious this morning as to what my body fat percentage is. On Feb. 11 it was 31.78 % (or poor shape) even though I was still considered a healthy weight. I never thought of tracking this before and decided this morning to add it to my measurements that are tracked on .

I was surprised to see that I'm now at 26.33 % (almost considered average - see below).

Interpreting your Body Fat % for Women

Competition Shape ("ripped") - 9-12%
Very Lean (excellent shape) - less than 15 %
Lean (good shape) - 16-20%
Average (fair shape) - 21-25 %
Below Average (poor shape) - 26-30 %
Needs Improvement (very poor shape) - 31-40 % +

I was skeptical that these numbers would actually ever move for me (even when losing weight I always seem to carry fat on my hips and thighs and upper arms). So it was a pleasant surprise!

Take the wellness assessment for free on if you are curious about your body fat percentage.

It is so good to see improvement in other ways. I too and in the very poor shape even thought my weight is normal. That is where I need my most improvement

Good for you! I am very poor shape! 32 %--can't believe it. I have a normal BMI and my weight is technically fine, but that number somes it up!

I need to kick butt!

Skinny Jeans

Thursday, April 03, 2008

I wore my "skinny" jeans today. Not because they fit perfectly, but because I can fit into them again. It felt good. Can't wait to see what it feels like when they do fit perfectly.
