Another Week!

Thursday, February 05, 2009

Well, my weight loss is not quite as quick as it was at the beginning but I am still happy with the results. I am down another pound, so I am at 127 currently. I am very happy with that and have been COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY enjoying my new running program! I am on a high after I get done and absolutely love how I can push myself and accomplish something I never have been able to do. I have always been athletic and done lots of cardio, but always did it either through aroebics classes, elliptical machines or the treadmill. This is the first time I have trained to run! My trainer says he can see how much my body has changed and I am so happy with the results! I feel like my stomach has lost a lot in the way of inches. I think I was very bloated, but now with eating the right foods and adding running to my workouts, I am doing it right!

First RUN!!!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Today was the first time I went running with the new running program that I joined. I was very nervous at the thought of running since I have NEVER run long distances before and when I have tried in the past, I have absolutely hated it and thought I was going to die! The trainer wanted us all to run or run/walk 1 mile so she could set a base line for each of us in the running group. I joined the running program with my brother since he is very competitve and I knew he would motivate me since I definitely don't want him to beat me. It was a frigid 36 degrees this morning and for Florida that is COLD!!!! It is NEVER that cold and of course, the coldest day of the year has to be the one in which I HAVE to be outside and running! I bundled up and met my group.

I was happily surprised to be able to run the 1 mile without stopping! I couldn't believe it! I have been told by my husband a million times that running on a treadmill is much easier than running on the road, but to me it was easier! I had a goal of running to the end of the second bridge, but when I got there, I thought I could continue to go and I did! The end of the bridge only left 1/4 mile to go, so I kept on and eventually made it to the end of the 1 mile mark! I was also happily surprised that I was the first one finished and made a time of 10 minutes and 15 seconds!

So, now that my base line is set, I'm going to try to get a little bit better and be able to run and little bit longer each time!

Two Weeks!!!

Thursday, January 15, 2009

I weighed myself this morning and was very happy to see that I was down another 2 pounds. I have really been eating right and making sure to add in my cardio. A couple of years ago a personal trainer friend of mine said that for ladies in their 30s the most important thing to include for losing weight was cardio! I totally understand that now!

Dinner Last Night - uh oh!!!

Saturday, January 10, 2009

So, my husband and I had a charity banquet to go to last night and I was very nervous at the dinner since it was catered and there were no choices in what was being offered to eat. It actually ended up being a very health conscious meal - sliced turkey breast, green beans, mashed potatoes and salad. The bad thing was the cake at the end of the dinner, but I limited myself to a few bites and was just fine. I tallied up my totals for the day and was surprised to see that I was still within my goal of calories/fat/protein/carbs for the day!
