It's Day 4 of my Insanity/Light strength training program. I have been eating healthy and watching my portions. I'm still eating three meals a day with a few small snacks. A lot of people recommend eating six small meals. I have tried, but until I can really portion my food well, I am going to stick to this. Once I have portion sizes down, I will give that a shot. Typically my meals right now are:
Breakfast- Oatmeal with Whey protein & berries OR egg whites with salsa
Lunch/Dinner- Chicken & Sweet potato OR egg whites OR lean turkey with salsa OR lean turkey chilli or tacos (with no cheese) OR tuna fish
For snacks I've been trying to satisfy my sweet tooth with fruit or yogurt or a tablespoon of peanut butter. This has been the most difficult part for me. I crave sweets a lot. So instead of snacking on junk food, I have decided to blog! I think it's best if I go cold-turkey off of junk food. As you already know I have a problem with portions and this doesn't help me when I binge. I eat when I'm bored or upset and in order to live a healthier and better lifestyle, I need to stop.
Once in a while (right now I'm thinking once a week), I am going to "cheat." I think fro-yo would be a great indulgence for me since I already love it and when I go to the fro-yo store it's already portioned for me. It's hard for me to grab junk food from a store when I have to portion it. The worse is a pint of ice cream. I take the pint with me and before I know it, it's gone or my bag of watermelon sour patch kids is suddenly empty.
I posed some BEFORE pictures of me to help use as motivation when I feel tempted to eat junk food. I want to see those pictures next to later ones and see wonderful results!
