back to basics

Saturday, September 17, 2011

I have been allowing too many "exceptions" for myself lately. I've lost 27 of the 30 pounds I set out to lose by the end of September. I'm so close to my goal that I have been eating things I know I would never have considered back in April or May. So effective today I am getting back on my program 100%, no excuses. I do have a few occasions coming up this week where the menu will be out of my control, but I can still make good choices. I am bound and determined to lose the last three pounds in three weeks (by October 8) and to set my next goal that day!

back on track at least for now!

Thursday, September 15, 2011

after my rocky day yesterday I've been super good today. Only fruit for breakfast, fruit and a veggie only salad (no nuts or dressing) for lunch. No snacks!

Now I get to go to a baseball game and sit in one of the fancy suites (a vendor gave my department a few pairs and I was one of the lucky winners) - I am going to try hard not to go overboard, I have been lucky enough to go before and have an idea of what the temptations will be, I have tracked all my food for the day so far as well as the food and beverages I know I will eat and still have some wiggle room. I just hope I can stay strong!

not thrilled with myself

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

started out with our annual hispanic produce items presentation. the vendor does a wonderful job preparing the food for us to sample. It all looked really good, and tasted great too! Also some homemade guac and chips. That was breakfast. Lunch was more of the same plus a cookie. I don't even like cookies! Then the afternoon got really stressful and I had a snack cake that was not that great, and I knew it, and kept eating it. Came home and just felt disgusted with myself!! Dinner was a large bowl of romaine with a shredded chicken breast. So at least I reined it in at the end of the day. Tracked everything I ate and still am well within range on calories, but still feel full! Looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow!

yep sometimes you get in a situation where the only things available are fattening and rather than starve and eat less, things go overboard. ...but heck...the guac was good Right.
It wasn't all bad.

Oh well, at least you recovered yourself at the end of the day. We all get stuck at places at times and wish we had planned a better supply of food. You still came within your range. I'm glad tomorrow is another day!I daren't keep snack cakes or cookies on hand to tempt me. I always have nuts, fruit, dried fruit, and corn chips on hand, but I count them out by the book. You at least had lettuce in the house, I don't!

Goodbye Size 16!!

Sunday, September 11, 2011

Well I started moving some clothes around today. I usually store my out-of-season clothing in the guest room. Today I went through everything in there and put all the size 16 bottoms and XL tops in one of those inexpensive IKEA hampers (they are SO handy) in the hopes that I will never need to go in there and get any out! I'll be putting the big warm weather clothes in there in the near future too. It is so fun to have my size 14s and a few 12s fit me again - almost like a new wardrobe!

wooooo-hoooooooooooo!!!!

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Well after a rough couple of days where I did not do so well resisting temptation I am happy to report that I am a pound less than I was at the beginning of the week!

I really think the key is tracking all my food. It helps me see that slipping up just once or even twice doesn't mean I should just write off the whole day. I just have to get back on track with the next decision I am faced with.

I am really going to push hard to get to my 30 pound goal in the next month. I've been on this freaking plateau for a couple of weeks now and I am sick of it!
