Left the Dayquil at home by accident so I was drug-free today. Aches are going away, just a stuffed up head and a bit of a raspy throat. On the bright side, I don't feel like snacking!

Tuesday - sickness and food prep

The NyQuil really knocked me out last night. I went into work about an hour late and felt pretty crappy all day so I left about an hour early. Came home and slept for an hour and a half and I'm starting to feel better, hopefully the worst is behind me!

Just spent a little time prepping my breakfasts and lunches for the next few days. For breakfast I cooked some Bob's Red Mill 5 Grain Cereal which I will have with some unsweetened almond milk and maybe a little brown sugar. For lunches I took a can of Chunky Savory Vegetable Soup, a can of unsalted diced tomates, and a can of pinto beans and split them up between three soup mugs. Then I cooked up some spinach that really needs to be eaten and put some of that in each mug too. It's going to be quite filling!

    NyQuil gives me heart palpations. I tried it one time...never again. I'm glad you are feeling better now.

    Nyquil puts me in a coma. I am afraid of it. No wonder you were so tired. I wanted to sleep for 2 days last time I took it!

back to work!

I'm happy to report that when I weighed myself this morning I was a pound down from yesterday, which means I ended my vacation weighing LESS than when I started it! woo-hoo!

I've mentioned before how I like Mondays because I can keep my food under control pretty easily. It is nice to get back in the routine, packing my lunch and getting all my fruits and veggies! Unfortunately I seem to have a bit of a cold and did not have much of an appetite so did not eat very much salad with my lunch. Came home and took a bath and ate a double serving of mac and cheese for dinner. Not especially healthy but still ended up at the low end of the calorie range and got a surprising amount of protein!

Time to go take some NyQuil and hit the sack early tonight!

Sunday - vacation is almost over!

heading back to work tomorrow. I'm happy to report that I weighed myself this morning and was exactly the same as when I left for my trip! I am feeling encouraged that I will be able to get rid of the rest of the holiday weight in the not-so-distant future!

Went to Big Lots yesterday and bought a few Bob's Red Mill soups to make and have for lunches. Made the Bountiful Black Bean last night and it's pretty good. Had some more for lunch today and will be taking it for lunch the next couple of days. I put half a can of diced tomatoes in with the soup for work, hoping it tastes OK! I really need to get back on track with eating more fruits and veggies and less animal food. It is what helped me lose weight last spring/summer and I know it will work again!

Saturday back home

Still am recovering from my long travel - slept from 10 last night to 10 this morning! Got up and went and ran a couple of errands, then came home and did some re-organizing in my closet. Feeling pretty good about what I accomplished. Took a little nap and went through all the mail that came in while I was away. Lots of stuff reminding me that it's tax time - yuck.

Exercise just did not happen today, I am planning on getting back in the swing of everything tomorrow. I ate pretty well today, and will be making a long trip to the grocery store tomorrow to load up on fresh fruits and veggies for the week!
