health screening results - hurray for me!

had our annual health screening at work - and my results were AWESOME compared to last year!
Blood Glucose up slightly, but I had a sweet dessert the night before, still well within the healthy range so I'm not concerned
Blood Pressure remained the same, it's always been low

The two best parts:

Total cholesterol down 19 points!!!!
BMI down 3 points to 24 (I'm "normal"!!!!)

Haven't had soup for dinner in a LONG time - I had the Chunky Healthy Request - put half the can in the pan, half in a storage soug mug, and split a can of no salt pinto beans the same way. Very filling, and very delicious! Also a pretty inexpensive meal!

    Good idea! I can eat soup any time, and the beans make it more filling. Great when i am busy also.

well last week did not go so well with my work trip, but i am all stocked up with good healthy food and back on track! It will be good to be back on my normal routine.

My trip was pretty good, however I was not very successful at watching my food intake. Too much white bread (bagels for breakfast) and not enough fruits and veggies. But I kept my overall quantity under control, and did not have anything that was absolutely terrible. I did a pretty good job getting back on track today and am looking forward to my trip to the grocery store tomorrow to get fully stocked on good fresh food for the week!

I have a work trip coming up this week and I am bound and determined I am not going to blow all my hard work by making bad decisions this time. My flight leaves at noon on Wednesday, and I return at 5:00 on Friday.

Wednesday lunch: pack fresh fruit and some 1 oz bags of nuts to eat on the plane, drink tomato juice and water
Wednesday dinner: with co-workers at a location to be determined.
Thursday breakfast and lunch: served at the event I will be attending.
Thursday dinner: as yet unsure, may be on my own
Friday breakfast and lunch: unknown
Friday dinner: on the plane

I plan to stop at a grocery store on my way to the hotel to pick up some fruit, veggies, and other items to eat for my breakfasts, snacks, and dinner on the plane.

I will take my workout clothes and use the gym in the hotel. If my schedule does not permit my time to spend in the gym I will do pushups, crunches, and squats in my room.

I will track all my food, and make smart decisions even when it is tempting not to.

I am doing this because I have a goal to meet for myself, and that is far more important and rewarding than anything I put in my mouth.
