I am SO bad about blogging on weekends! I tend to keep myself so busy that I am off the computer most of the weekend. This is mainly because I am on the computer at least 8 hours a day M-F due to my job as a transcriptionist and I need some time away from it! I do still log in to spin the wheel, log in my nutrition and fitness, and check my Facebook and Daily Mile.com.
Today was my "sleeping in" day. On Sundays, the hubs gets up with the baby when she wakes up and lets me get extra shut eye. Which meant I got up at 8:30 a.m. today. SCORE!! The only downside was that I didn't start my 3-mile run today until 9 a.m. and it was a hot day today! It was 75 degrees and just pure sun with wind coming from the southwest, if I gauged that correctly...running into wind isn't the greatest! I did just fine, though I got my usual stomach pain (like in my stomach, not a cramp) in the last mile. I wonder if it is because I am breathing air in wrong? I really need to figure it out because it can wear on me. I eat a banana before my run followed by a piece of toast with PB on it afterwards. If I eat more beforehand I almost feel too full...
ANYhoooo....I did it in 32 minutes, which made me very happy. I always make sure my 3-mile runs are actually 3.1 miles, so it can simulate a 5K. I am happy with anything under 35 minutes! And, my next official 5K is next Sunday (July 4th) so I am really psyched!
I ended up doing various activities today, including walking a lot with the dog, hubs, and baby...I also mowed the lawn (smaller lawn, really) with a push mower, and then raked and weed-whacked. I did the laundry, made chili, then cleaned up the house and made my to-do list for the next 2 weeks. The weekend of July 10-11, I am having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, and then on Sunday it is my daughter's 1st birthday, so I have TONS to do.
Oh, and did I mention my daycare lady called me up today and informed me that she will be needing to take a vacation from July 2 - July 11??? And that she may not be able to make it now to my daughter's birthday? Nice...I had already set up the date and times for the garage sale, too, so that is the reason for the huge to-do list and REALLLLY making sure that I do not procrastinate on ANY of it and that I make sure that all of my time is managed appropriately, ESPECIALLY when my mom is watching Kaylee.
On a side note, on Thursday, July 1, according to my training I will be moving up to a 4-mile run! Yikes!!! I am excited, but I am also scared LOL. I think that is because a mile can seem like SUCH a long distance. Oh, Erin, stop being such a ninny and JUST DO IT!

Just a quick note to vent about stupid rain!!! So far this spring/summer, there have been so many rainy days here that we may as well be in Seattle!! Not that it rains there or anything....
I woke up this morning at 3:30 to the sound of a big thunderstorm...and there is only one type of weather that I will NOT run outside in, and that is when there is lightning (well, and tornadoes and hail). Darn it!!! I really wanted to run before class today! Now, in order to get my run in today I will have to run after the class.
I did map out a new 3-mile run so that will be awesome. Last time I ran the 3 miles, I ran home and then back to the gym. That was a bit hard, though, since once I got home, I wanted to run inside and go to bed .
I will have to put in overtime again today, so running on my lunch hour is out of the question, and I am watching the baby from the moment I get off work until she is sleeping (hubby works until midnight).
Well, off to the gym! I hope it doesn't rain too bad during my run after!

Today I was supposed to go to the gym to do the spin class and abs work following that. But, I woke up this morning and just knew that it would be best to take the day off from the gym. So, I went back to bed ...I am learning to listen to my body and do what it tells me to do.
I did go on a few walks with my dog today, pretty leisure at about 3.8 mph average. I did a lot of housecleaning on my lunch hour. I did overtime today at work, though, so that cut in a bit on that.
I stayed in my points range today for food, and did so yesterday, also! I am happy with how I am getting that area focused on and conquered (for now...an ongoing battle!).
I just went through my Sansa MP3 player and took out all the slower songs since that can ruin my running mood, and I don't need that at all!
Well, pretty uneventful day all around, and being it is 9 minutes after 9 p.m. I better hit the hay!

Until I start my true HM training...
I was planning on putting in 3 miles of running before my 5:40 spin class (so I could be done with everything by 6:40), but when that alarm rang at 4:45, I said "I don't THINK so!!" and reset it for 5:05.
Spinning was CRAZY today....the Wednesday instructor is this Amazon woman who is just incredible, and she makes you work as hard as she does! She wanted us to push to get 21 miles in 45 minutes. I ended up with 23.5 miles, so I was pumped!!!
Right after we were done stretching after that, I headed out the door and ran home and then ran back to the gym, which I have found equals just about 3.1 miles. I ran it in 32 minutes!!! I am so excited that I was about to do a 10-minute mile w/o knowing it! I felt pretty good, though I was sweating up a storm. It was hot and muggy out this morning...
Well, off to take a shower and get the baby ready for daycare! I'll probably blog again later tonight...it seems the more I blog, the more motivated and overall better I feel. Go figure!

P.S. My weigh-in for the Biggest Loser Periwinkles challenge went TONS better than I expected!!! I am down another 1.6 pounds this week, with my weight now being 182.2...SO excited to get closer to the 170s, which I haven't been since I was maybe 16 (now almost 30). YAY!!!

My weigh-in with Weight Watchers went so-so...I gained 1.2 pounds, but I am very happy with myself so far in what I have accomplished, and the scale is not everything!
After the meeting, I went over to YMCA and met up with the Red River Runners group, and was partnered up with 4 other ladies who made up the beginner's group. One of the ladies was the one who had started the runners group, so that was very exciting for me! We were told we would be running about 3 miles doing 7-minute runs and 3-minute walks. Very happy with that since I had just started running for 28 minutes straight, but that is on the treadmill and today was clear sunny skies and 82 degrees! I was a bit nervous that I would get SO hot out there, but I didn't feel bad and I had a FANTASTIC time! I got to talk to the woman who started the group and another lady whose name is also Erin and also has a baby at home (12 weeks old), so there was great conversation and I didn't touch my MP3 player. I don't know really how long it took us since I did not check the time, but we ended up running/walking 2.77 miles total. I am just so hyped that I was able to do that and feel great afterwards with no pain and no soreness! I am planning on doing 3 miles tomorrow morning before spinning just because...we'll see if I get up in time!
On a side note, when I got home I decided to take my dog for a 1-mile walk. I got outside and my neighbor across the street (who is selling his house and lives now in a small town about an hour and a half away) was outside in his lawn. I haven't seen him in about 3 months, and he came up to me and said he hardly recognized me! That made me feel pretty good about what I have done
Well, off to go pick up my princess from her grandma's and figure out dinner (yes, it is a late one tonight)!
