Suck It December 7th! *TOUGH LOVE*

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Copied From Yoovie:
"Sometimes we get a little too lenient, a little too nice to ourselves and go from being kind and loving ourselves to just plain taking advantage of our own kindness. Maybe we have promised something to ourselves every day this month and never actually really did any of them. It's ok if this is true of any of you, but today you might need to be a littler stricter on yourself. Sometimes the best way to love yourself is to just stand up and do what you know you are supposed to do.

Since lately we are all about forgiving ourselves for slipping, and just concentrating on our victories, we are going to take 12 hours to crack the whip. If you haven't pushed yourself since December started, today is THE DAY to make up for it.

That's right. Today you HAVE to break a sweat. Even if you're a busy mom with kids hanging from her every limb. Before you go to bed tonight, you MUST break a sweat and report back tomorrow morning.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Tell me what you did yesterday.

~~I did 1000 crunches, a full 45 minutes of ST besides that, a 1-mile walk with my dog, and a 3-mile run.

Did you binge? What did you eat?

~~ I did not binge. I had 110 ounces of water, a low-fat English muffin with reduced-fat PB, banana, an Everything bagel thin with WW cream cheese, an apple, grapes, Smart pasta with Marinara sauce, 3 oz of chicken fried in olive oil, a turkey burger on a small hamburger bun and sweet potato fries. One can of Coke Zero. Was in my points allowance perfectly!

When was the last time you broke a sweat?

~~ last night while doing those crunches.

What is your biggest excuse right now?

~~ This morning's excuse was that I woke up with a debilitating headache, but honestly I Could have pushed through it. WIll be making up for it on my lunch hour, though!

    I like that. I think we DO need to crack the whip. We can't be so kind to ourselves we don't push ahead...that is really being cruel. I'm learning that walking a tight-rope...being proud of my victories...but being real...is super important. Keep up the great work!

Food Blog - Monday

Monday, December 06, 2010

I started out this morning at 5 a.m. with a banana, which isn't pictured, and hit the gym with my water, ran 3 miles, and did my nautilus ST.

Here is my breakfast after workout consisting of a MacIntosh apple (0 points), a WW English Muffin (3 points) with Reduced Fat Peanut Butter (2 points) and WATER! (total of 5 points):

Of course, my mid-morning snack was grapes...I am such a grapes fanatic (0 points):

Yummy lunch, which consisted of Smart Pasta (5 points), 1/2 cup of marinara sauce (1 point), and 3 oz of chicken strips (2 points) pan fried in olive oil (1 point) for a total of 9 points:

My mid-afternoon snack consisting of a Thomas Everything Bagel Thin (3 points) and WW Cream Cheese (1 point), which honestly felt/tasted like too much cream cheese, but was seriously yummy for 4 points total:

My dinner consisted of a turkey burger (4 points) on a regular hamburger bun (3 points) and sweet potato fries (4 points). Unfortunately, my daughter was having a meltdown during the preparation of this, and I forgot to take a picture of it!!!

For an evening treat, I had a bit of the same grapes as earlier.

For water, I finished out at 110 ounces, which is like a record for me.

I also finished my ST with my dumbbells at home, and finished with a total of 1000 crunches today!!!

Well, my weigh in is tomorrow, and this is my first full week on the new Weight Watchers plan. I am interested to see what it looks like, especially given the many times I ate out, and the whole TOM dealy-o :o} I am hoping for a 0.6 pound weight loss since that is what I truly need to reach my goal there again.

Well, today was definitely a success for me, and here's to another successful day tomorrow!!

Suck It: Day 6

DECEMBER 6TH CAN SUCK IT, CAUSE THE WEEKEND IS OVAH

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This weekend, I didn't do everything I planned on doing, and I feel kinda bad, but I won let it keep me down because tonight I promise myself publicly that I am going to do 500 crunches or more!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My Weekend Victories...

I found out that I can eat out at my favorite places in the world and not come out gaining weight.

I did at least an hour of shoveling snow this weekend...packed, hard snow!

I had a Friday night bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheese bit of a binge, and owned up to it not only on here, but to myself and to my husband. And moved on.

I had a huge change of plans this weekend because of the storm in the Twin Cities, but went to Fargo on Saturday and had a great time, and still planned out my meals!

I did 500 crunches last night while my daughter danced around me and tried to sit on my head.

I tracked everything I ate this weekend. Even the Swedish fish.

I didn't eat the Hershey's kisses in my DH's Christmas stocking, though I looked longingly at them.

I took pictures of myself in a bikini, and loved it! :o}

    Sounds like December is your positive month, Erin. A small slip-up here and there (I like to call them boo-boos) isn't going to harm you and at least you're accounting for it in your plan. You'll get there.

Great news to hear that you have such self control that you don't need to restrict your eating out. That is going to make SUCH a huge difference to your quality of life. I've always found it so much easier to eat at home and be good, but going out .... meh ... not a strong point for me!

Keep up the excellent progress. :)

    Great victories but if you go buy some nice turkey bacon or even 97% fat free Canadian bacon mix in some egg whites with 1 whole egg, and choose some healthier cheeses, like skim Mozzarella, Goat, Feta, or even Mexican Cotija, a 1/2 to 1 oz goes a long way and is even healthy for you. This could be a regular breakfast with some added Oatmeal.

Update on my weekly plan, plus my new weekly plan (12/6-12/12)

Monday, December 06, 2010

Here is my plan for last week:

Monday: 60 minutes of spinning with ST followed by an ab class followed by a 3-mile run on the treadmill. emoticon for the most part. I didn't do the ab class, but did my own "ab class" later on. The running didn't happen because my foot was aching a bit, so I went on the elliptical machine for half an hour. I call it a success!

Tuesday: Zumba followed by 1/2 hour on the elliptical. Since it is my day off for working this weekend, I will go back in the afternoon and run 4-5 miles (since I can't go running this evening with the group). Weight Watchers meeting and hoping to be down at least 2 pounds (even with Thanksgiving)! emoticon again for the most part. I missed Zumba because we had a crazy storm with wind hit us during the night, so I ended up shoveling instead of going to the gym in the morning. I spent 40 minutes doing that. I did go back in the afternoon, and ran for 4 miles followed by an entire HOUR on the elliptical machine. I was down over 3 pounds at Weight Watchers :o}

Wednesday: 60-minute spin class with ST followed by a 3-mile run and ab class. emoticon for the most part. I did the Spinning and ST, but then did the elliptical machine instead of running (leg aching a bit) and skipped the ab class.

Thursday: Rest? I did rest. emoticon

Friday: 20 minutes of spin class followed by 40 minutes of Pump-It (ST) with abs. Run for 3 miles after. Goal NOT met! My DH turned off my alarm, so I missed the class. My time of the month (TOM) came, and I ended up just walking the dog and doing some ST at home, but not much.

Saturday: Run for 4-6 miles and 1 hour on the elliptical machine. Goal NOT met. I took this day as a shovel, then rest day.

Sunday: Either rest or 1 hour on the elliptical depending on how I feel physically. emoticon I rested ;o}

Now, without further ado, my plan for THIS week (newly revamped according to my bikini challenge plan):

Monday: 45 minutes to 60 minutes of ST including nautilus, free weights, and crunches. 3 miles of running. More crunches! Water, Water, WATER!!!! Stay in my pointsPLUS range.

Tuesday: Zumba followed by the elliptical for 1/2 hour or so. WATER WATER WATER!! Weigh in at WW (hoping to actually hit goal again of 160, was 160.6 last week).

Wednesday: 45-60 minutes or more of ST with 4 miles of running. WATER? DID I SAY WATER???? YES, I DID! As always, stay in pointsPLUS range! More crunches.

Thursday: No gym day. Circuit training at home (bootcamp-style) with lunges, squats, push-ups, crunches, etc. (PSSST: Water).

Friday: ST!!!!! Super ST! One extra rep of EVERYTHING! Crunches! Run 4 miles. WATERRRRRRRR.

Saturday: I work, so most likely a rest day with shoveling. Will do crunches, though! And drink water :o}

Sunday: Crunches. Run 6 miles. That's about it? What am I forgetting? Oh, yeah....water :o}

Rachel_Mac's Bikini Challenge....Before Pictures.

Saturday, December 04, 2010

I was at Target this morning when I saw bathing suits including bikinis...Browsing through them, I decided to go for it and buy what I thought I would somewhat fit in. I found the top in an XL (since I have big boobies....) and I bought a small (eek!!!) since I wear a medium right now for the bottoms.

I had DH take the pics this morning. I am happy looking at the backside of me. I like my butt and the back of my legs, and my back. I like my arms...and I like my upper chest (I can see bones!). My belly is what needs work, and it will get there! My boobies are something I think really do need a "pick-me-up" in the future as I can hardly keep them inside an XL top....I am excited for the progress!

ETA: My current weight is 160 pounds, but I started my weight loss 16 months ago at the weight of 286, so I am so far down 126 pounds. I may have a ways to go, but I am grateful for how far I have come, and I will ROCK a bikini next summer!!

Starting Measurements:
Weight - 160.6
Height - 5' 7"
Waist- 37
Hips - 38.5
Thigh - 21.5
Calf - 14
Upper Arm - 12
Boobies - 36
BMI: 25.1

Oh, yeah...I kept the tags on because I am just not 100% positive this will be a workable bikini for me, and enjoy my daughter and dog butting in!
