Pound for Pound Challenge

Thursday, November 18, 2010

I did the Pound For Pound Challenge for The Biggest Loser last January, and pledged that I would lose 40 pounds. At that time, I weighed 239 pounds and now weigh 159 pounds. I would have pledged more knowing I wanted to reach a higher goal, but I think that was about the highest you could pledge.

Anyway, I got an email today asking me to submit my story and before/after pictures and possibly have the story or pictures featured at TBL finale. I know that so many, many people will be submitting their stories, also, and the chances of my story being featured are minimal, but I had to go for it.

These are the pictures that I submitted (plus 2 backups):

Before:

After:

Even though it's been only 16 months since I started this journey....I forget sometimes where I came from. I forget to look back at where I was and how I felt. Trust me,....seeing these pictures is another jump start to my motivation! And in the very, very, very, very off-chance that anything comes out of this,...well, I need to be ready as can be, right? I will also use THAT as motivation.

Keep movin',

Erin

My race wish list for 2011

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Okay, this is really my half marathon/full marathon wish list, and my 5K wish list will really just be that I do as many 5K's and 10K's as I can :o}

February 13, 2011: Lace Up Against Breast Cancer Half Marathon (Rochester, MN)

March 26, 2011: Dick Lytie Spring Classic HM (Green Bay, WI)

April 30, 2011: Run For The Lakes HM (Nisswa, MN)

May 21, 2011: Fargo Marathon (Fargo, ND, and registered for this one)

July 2011: Usually there is a HM offered on the 4th of July in Grand Forks, ND, where I live. I plan to do it this year!

August 28, 2011: Rochester Half Marathon (Rochester, MN)

September 11, 2011: Dick Beardsley Half Marathon (Detroit Lakes, MN)

October 2011: Mini Marathon (Half Marathon), in Fargo, ND (date not announced yet).

Obviously, I won't be able to do all of these (though in the back of my head, how FUN would that be??? What a challenge)! I do plan on definitely doing at least 2 half marathons and the full marathon in 2011 plus a minimum of 7 5K's and at least 2 of the 10K's in my area. Gotta keep pushing myself! The sky is the limit :o}

Oh, and then in 2012, I hope to branch out to some of the more "famous" marathons, i.e. Chicago marathon and eventually the New York marathon. Would also love to run the Daytona Beach half marathon some year!

Daily Goals: November 17, 2010

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Goals from yesterday:
1. Drink a minimum of 8 cups of water. emoticon
2. Run with my friend after the Weight Watchers weigh-in and meeting. Hope for 4 miles. emoticon
3. Stay in the range of 20-24 points, but closer to 20 to start making up for yesterday's funhouse of food. emoticon
4. Walk dog twice for 2 miles. emoticon
5. Crunches, doesn't matter how many, but just start. Goal Not Met!! Holy moly.
6. Productivity average at work of 175-200. emoticon

Yay! 5/6 isn't bad, but wow, I really couldn't remember to just do 1-2 crunches? I need, NEED to start remembering this. Maybe I'll put an alert on my phone to remind me at 8 p.m. to do this. That way I can remember!

I ran 4 miles with a couple of friends, which was awesome! I felt great and nothing hurt. I also ate pretty darned good and stayed focused.

Today I had to watch my daughter in the morning so some of these goals are already met, but oh well:
1. Go to the gym and spin for 55 minutes!
2. Eat fabulous today, FABULOUS!
3. Productivity of 200 an hour (since I am only working 4.5 hours today).
4. Crunches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!
5. Bootcamp DVD?
6. Water!
7. Walk the dog once today for a long walk (since it is SOOO cold out today).

Well, back to work finally!!!

Daily Goals: November 16, 2010 (birthday pics included)

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

My goals for yesterday:
1. Get back to the gym. No excuses! Do the spinning class. emoticon and felt horrible! Lungs felt like they were going to just collapse, shaking arms and legs after the workout.
2. Crunches tonight. Again, no excuses! It's high time to get that core worked on ;o} Ugh. Goal Not Met. Discussion below.
3. Eat healthy. Think fruits, chicken, veggies, milk, etc. Stay in point range of 22. Goal Not Met.
4. Think thin! When wanting bad food or more food, think about that little red dress you want to wear for New Year's Eve. In fact, post a picture of that little red dress on the followup blog tomorrow morning. Goal Not Met.
5. Walk dog twice. The usual 2 miles. emoticon
6. 175 lines per hour at work. emoticon
7. Try not to stress about the fact that my job is in jeopardy again. emoticon. I did try to focus on other things.
8. Also try not to stress about the fact that I AM going back to school next fall for sure. emoticon Tomorrow is another day!
9. Post blog some time today about my birthday yesterday, and what this past year has been for me, the importance of it. Goal Not Met.

Okay, so I didn't do crunches because I watched The Tudor's instead with my DH while eating a bowl of ice cream. Yeah. Ice cream. *sigh* And for dinner? We did our "each get a footlong sub from Subway and split it so we get 2 different sandwiches" dinner. I planned a meal, and it had red bell peppers in it, which DH hates. He suggests Subway, I follow along because that's how I roll apparently. We went to the grocery store following that because he wants a snack for watching The Tudors. Of course I end up suggesting ice cream. We get the Edy's lower fat ice cream, but it is chocolate chip cookie dough, and I sure as heck didn't eat 1/2 cup. More like 2 cups. If not 3. Didn't measure, just filled up the bowl. In all honestly, I probably had 30 points for the sub and ice cream. I am allowed 22 points a day. I already had 18 points BEFORE dinner (I seem to always be ravenous on Monday, the day before weigh-in). So, assuming my figures are close to being correct, I had a total of 38 points yesterday. Not 22. That is just RIDICULOUS. And I wonder why I feel bloated and just yucky today.

So, I am committing right now to not eating out for at least 1 week. I figure I ate out about 5 TIMES this week, which is just not good for me and my body. I would prefer to eat out once every 2 weeks, but I am not going to go to extremes with myself.

As for the blog I promised to post yesterday, my mom ended up not being able to watch Kaylee, and when Kaylee is home, the laptop is hidden. She loves the laptop and if I pull it out at any time, she is smashing buttons and gets angry when pulled away. And yes, she has her own laptop. Two of them. (toddler ones, of course). So, apologies, and honestly that blog is not promised until I get an evening without the little munchkin on hand. I may do it after bedtime for her one of these nights.

Here are a couple of pictures from my birthday, though...and I should have gotten tons of pics, but I am the only one who thinks of taking pics and I was not thinking that day!

So here are my more realistic goals for today:
1. Drink a minimum of 8 cups of water.
2. Run with my friend after the Weight Watchers weigh-in and meeting. Hope for 4 miles.
3. Stay in the range of 20-24 points, but closer to 20 to start making up for yesterday's funhouse of food.
4. Walk dog twice for 2 miles.
5. Crunches, doesn't matter how many, but just start.
6. Productivity average at work of 175-200.

You are only human girl!! Cut yourself some slack and start all over again!!
This is the advice I received this month. So... I am sending it to you as well. You are allowed to eat things just for your pleasure but, you need to be able to live with yourself the next day. You ARE wonder woman. You can beat this week and live the rest of your life in healthy happiness!!!

Erin, you look good, girl! And your little one is just adorable. :)

So long as you keep pushing in the right direction, allow yourself to have off days. It's the rare person who can keep the momentum going every single day. Living to a plan isn't something you can maintain endlessly, the "routine" of it will drag you down and demotivate you. You're living, you have to enjoy it as well as feel like you MUST exercise. :)

Daily Goals: November 15, 2010

Monday, November 15, 2010

Wow!!! I haven't done this since THURSDAY! Goes to show my weekends are not online until the end of the day and I spent more time catching up and all without posting a blog.

So, here are my goals from THURSDAY:
1. Go to the gym. Play Wallyball for an hour. emoticon but most likely will NOT play this again. Just too many injuries involved.
2. Walk the dog twice. emoticon
3. Please, Please eat 22-ish points. Not 30. Why am I so flipping hungry? emoticon Though it was a close call!
4. Be good at the sports bar for the gym's football thingy after work. Have to be there for my team, but don't have to eat. emoticon I did have the burger and fries, but made room for it in my points allowance.
5. Take care of myself. emoticon
6. Strive to get 175 lines an hour at work. emoticon
7. Crunches tonight? Please? Nope.

So, my weekend was full of bad food and no exercise, but I had a fabulous weekend, full of fun and rest and just being carefree. I had bad food, but I was mindful about it!

My goals for today:
1. Get back to the gym. No excuses! Do the spinning class.
2. Crunches tonight. Again, no excuses! It's high time to get that core worked on ;o}
3. Eat healthy. Think fruits, chicken, veggies, milk, etc. Stay in point range of 22.
4. Think thin! When wanting bad food or more food, think about that little red dress you want to wear for New Year's Eve. In fact, post a picture of that little red dress on the followup blog tomorrow morning.
5. Walk dog twice. The usual 2 miles.
6. 175 lines per hour at work.
7. Try not to stress about the fact that my job is in jeopardy again.
8. Also try not to stress about the fact that I AM going back to school next fall for sure.
9. Post blog some time today about my birthday yesterday, and what this past year has been for me, the importance of it.

I think that's it!

I will post that blog some time today. I have my thoughts in order, just need the time to type it! I think my daughter is going to her grandma's today, so I may just get that time this evening.

Happy Monday all!!!
