A Treat on a Rainy Day!!!

Sunday, October 27, 2013

I was bored out of my skull today. I couldn't really go for my usual walk because it was raining, it had been raining for hours and looked like it will be raining for hours more. I figured that the dessert stand near my house would be quiet because most Malaysians don't like going out in the rain. AND I had a craving for a waffle with banana, vanilla ice-cream and butterscotch sauce! I don't get this craving often but today, it came on so strong and just couldn't be ignored.

So I dug out some spare cash that I have and took an umbrella and walked to the dessert stand. When I got there, there was only one other customer other than me. Even the cafe next door was quiet. I ordered my waffle and requested extra butterscotch sauce. He even gave me extra slice banana! Yummmmm! Yummmmm! My Mom cooked rice vermicilli today. I'm not overly fond of such dishes. So I ate a small bowl then went for my waffle! It certainly hit the spot!

Yesterday, I did 40 minute of Pilates. Right now, I'm still feeling the DOMS! I will have to do a DVD workout either tomorrow morning or on Tuesday evening, if I can't wake up early tomorrow!

Have you been getting strong cravings for anything?

I'm thinking of adding Pilates to my rotation, how do you find it works out for you? I don't really get cravings for any food minus chocolate when its that time. I think it may have something to do with being pretty much vegan though. Happy Sunday~

Enjoyed my bday recently!

Saturday, October 26, 2013

My Dad gave me some cash for a present. That was the best part. I haven't spent it yet though. Waiting for something worthwhile. It's not often I get so much cash for a gift and I don't want to waste it!

I saw this pair of delicate looking earrings though. Imported from Korea. But it's costume-jewellery and I can't justify spend almost RM40 for costume jewellery! But it IS pretty and I'm still considering it! I'm planning to save more money so I can buy something worthwhile as a treat.

It would be so easy to fritter it away with meaningless purchases and then regretting it later! My Mom used her coupons to buy some pizza, sardine and curry puffs to treat the 12 nurses and 1 admin person at the dialysis center! I hope everyone got a fair share but it's a little beyond my control. I just pray that everyone had enough!

One of the nurses gave me a pair of earrings. It's simple and cute and I really appreciate it! I wish I had more presents though. But I guess I can't expect it! My Mom took me out to lunch on the actual day. I had ceaser salad with smoked salmon, banana and peach crumble with vanilla ice-cream and a mango cobbler that tasted more like tea!

On the eve of my bday, my Dad took me out to dinner. We had rice with salted egg shrimp, assam fish, yam basket, fried tofu and mixed veggies! My cousins and uncle who live in the next street joined us. We decided to have dinner the day before bcoz it was my brother's day off. My Aunt (my uncle's wife) couldn't join us bcoz she was overseas on holiday with her friends.

All in all, it was a nice bday but now I'm looking forward to Christmas! I hope I get more cash!

P/S : sorry I didn't take any pics of my food! I was too hungry to eat!

New Haircut

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

So, what do you think? I know it's not a very good picture but I took it myself standing in front of a mirror. Best I can do. Too embarrassed to ask my Dad to take a pic of me. Lol!

You can't really see the layers but I have what they call graduated layers from my chin to a little below the shoulder. I'm very happy with the cut. I could have taken a pic tomorrow but the blow curl can't be seen after I've spent the night sleeping, so, I took a pic of myself today while the blow curl can still be seen.

I might take another pic tomorrow to show you how I look most days, as I'm too lazy to keep blow drying my hair!

Great new hairstyles can make us feel so much better. I just cut my hair last week it needed it. I was afraid to do it for a while because I had to find a new stylist and she did a wonderful job so it worked out nicely. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Siberian Husky friends!!!!

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I played with 2 Siberian Husky friends today! The first one is a new friend! I saw his owner walking with him and walked up to say hello! He jumped up at me with his 2 front paws, y'know, the "down! boy!" pose, but I didn't mind.

He was actually a Siberian Husky and Spitz cross-breed. So, he had the markings of a Husky but the long fur of a Spitz! A beautiful doggie and so friendly! Rats! I forgot his name! Sigh!

The 2nd Husky I played with belongs to my Mom's friend. Huskies seem to be a very popular breed in Malaysia. Which is surprising, considering our hot and humid weather! They probably would have to be kept in air-conditioned rooms, considering that they are sled dogs in the north and south poles!

I forgot to take pictures of them. I will the next time I see them and post them on this blog!

Have a good week, everyone!

I'm a Mini Schnauzer Mom now, but years ago we had a husky/collie mix. Her name was Brandi, and she was the most wonderful dog with the kids. I'll always miss her.

I have one Schnauzer that is more heat sensitive than the other, but we keep them groomed short in the summer, and leave their hair a little longer in the winter months.
We live in Vermont.

Glad you enjoyed your husky friends ~ they are a beautiful dog.

I have an Alaskan Malamute who will be 11 in 3 weeks. We were in Michigan when we got him but here in Missouri he stays inside all summer with the AC. I run the AC for him.......lol....Due to his age and arthritic hips he doesn't stay outside much even in the cooler temps that we are having now. Even though he is 11 and weighs 120 pounds he is still my "baby".......lol

We have a husky shepherd mix. He loves his shade. We laugh because when we are playing outside he always returns is toy to the shady area, even in the winter.

He is definitely a different dog once the weather cools off. He has more energy and just wants to be out more.

My oldest son gave me his husky to take care of. He has a swimming pool, and this dog was tearing things and digging holes all over the yard. This was to be temporary, but it has been 2 years. My wife and I have gotten attached to her. She doesn't care for the TX summer, so she spends the day inside under the AC.

How I miss my huskie, such a beloved animal. I lived in Tucson and I don't believe the weather is right. When I had mine, I lived in the snow region, much better for her.!
