Help! I'm putting on weight!!!

I've just put on half a kilo! Help!!!

That's it, double walks and double crunches (abs : main problem area). I also have to cut the snacks! But doesn't it say here in SP that we have to eat when we're hungry? What happens if you're hungry like all the time or just before bed?! Help!

I'm 4 feet 11 and currently weight a little over 120lbs or 56.5kgs. I would LOVE to be 50kgs. Well, I've just got to keep going I guess.......watching what I eat like a hawk and exercising every chance I get!

    One pound isn't bad. It is normal to see a little bit of flux from time to time. Just keep up the good work on watching your nutrition intake and exercise and you will see the results that you're looking for.

Regarding the nutrition tracker...I sometimes have to input my own data if the foods I am eating are not listed in the database. And, if I make something that I know won't be there, I input each individual food item. It can be a little time consuming at first, but you can save everything you list in your favorites so that they will be easily accessible for next time.

Another option...post your Asian cuisine recipes on the SP recipe database! I'm sure there are lots of us who would love to try them out and the database will calculate everything for you.

    My experience is that when I eat more than what my body needs, it all becomes fat. Regardless of your asian diet, you can always count your calories, your carbs, fat, proteins, etc. and acomodate them to your size and body requirements, because otherwise, you cheat on yourself. At leat, that has been my own experience.

    I don't track my meals because the SP nutrition tracker isn't suited to the Asian diet.

    I checked your Nutrition Tracker and I see that you do not track your meals...my suggestion is that you use the tool, it is very effective in letting you "see" what you are doing as far as fueling/nourishing your body. Good luck.

Addicted to Zenmai Sushi!

There is this sushi restaurant at the mall near my place that is an absolute hit! During lunch, dinner and especially during weekends, the place is packed! You need to queue to get in. So far, I've queued a few times already.

The thing is, I can understand why the place is so popular, I too, can't get enough of the place. The sushi and other stuff they serve there is delicious! For people who appreciate Japanese food, that is.

I even find myself dreaming of what to order the next time I go there, which will be soon. Another noteworthy place is Seoul Garden, it's a buffet place where you can bbq your own meat. They display lot's of marinated meats that you can just pick and bbq yourself. I will be going there next. Maybe I'll be addicted to this place also soon, lol!

I feel really fortunate to be living in Malaysia, ppl say the food is the best here! I'll have to say, I agree! So far, I haven't come across any food I hate here. In fact, I have to exercise self-control otherwise, well, let's just say I'll be a lot fatter if I didn't........

Aching Abs!

Well, I did some crunches 2 days ago & my tummy is still aching. I also took a walk yesterday but actually, I was window shopping in the nearby mall with a friend. We later had dinner in my favorite Japanese restaurant. We split the bill and our orders. She order 2 medium portions of salmon shashimi and I ordered 1 large portion of smoked salmon sushi and one little portion of unangi sushi, one mixed vegie tempura (naughty, i know!) and green tea.

My friend let me have 2 shashimi pieces and I let her have my chinese mushroom tempura. I just LoVE that restaurant, I'll be going there again as soon as I've saved up some spare cash!

    Do a personal challenge where you drop change in a jar to match the number of sparkpoints you get on a daily basis. Like last night, I dropped $0.54 in my jar because that is how many points I earned for the day. Would have been more if my computer hadn't acted up. Anyway, at the end of the month, use the money to treat yourself to something you like, or roll it over into the next month. I got that off of one of my SP Teams. Have fun.

CNY is here again!

Yup, Chinese New Year (CNY) season is here again! Lot's of high fat snacks, mandarin oranges, bbq meat pieces etc. In other words, lot's of yummy food! And most of them are unhealthy.

I made myself a promise that I won't be greedy and consume loads of those high-fat snacks. I'll just take little bites and also promise myself not so many bites as even little bites can add up if I have too many of them.

I love this years CNY mainly because it's not a heat wave! Normally, during CNY season, the house becomes a veritable baking oven because usually there is a heat wave. This year, it's rainy most of the time, so the wheather has been comfortably cool (so nice for napping, lol!).

Well, I also need to exercise more and consistently. Let's see how I do today!

A mixed day!

I woke up today, toke my morning does of meds and supplements, then headed out with my Mom to fill up my monthly prescription. The traffic was horrible but I told myself, I wouldn't let that stress me out and ruin my day. I told myself to be patient and I managed to collect my meds for the next month.

After that, my Mom took me to brunch, it should have been breakfast but as it was about 11am, it was more like a brunch. I was quite hungry by then actually, having headed out of the house without breakfast. But all I had were Java noodles (a noodle dish with thick gravy made with sweet potatoes, garnished with mung bean sprouts, tofu, potato pieces, and half an egg, though I ditched the yolk : medical reasons). I also had half a piece of tofu stuffed with fish paste, 1 fish paste fritter and a piece of fried eggplant stuffed with fish paste.

Then I made a mistake, my Mom bought some fried fritters, I had 2 pieces of the yam ones, I love yam! And when I got home later in the evening, I ate another fritter, this had a sweet chinese paste (I'm not sure what it's made from, the chinese call it annual cake) sandwiched between a piece of sweet potato and a piece of yam.

We went grocery shopping after brunch. And I treated myself to a bit of soft-serve yogurt with sliced mango and rambutan (a Malaysia fruit), cost me RM9 but I loved every spoonful!

I had a very relaxing day on the whole, I finished the 4th Harry Potter book (I read the last few chapters today), then watch the VCD of the 4th Harry Potter movie (for the unintiated : it was called 'Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire'). Then I went for an hour long brisk, brisk walk! I even sweated a little (I have to let you know, I find it very hard to sweat).

I'm going to continue with my cross-stitching after posting this. I didn't have perfect day but I did have a healthy home-cooked dinner. Oh, my Mom does the cooking, but I'm not complaining, she's a health nut too. lol!

    yup, I love cross-stitch but it's very time consuming, you won't progress much unless you sew for hours and hours.

    It sounds like your day was great, even with all the food! I used to cross-stitch but I haven't done any in years and years and have forgotten most of the stitches. Do you enjoy it?
