My arms and shoulders are still sore.........

Saturday, July 07, 2012

so I'm still taking it easy today. Just took a short stroll around the neighborhood. About 30 minutes. I get the feeling that if I do another push-up, my arms can't hold me up anymore. I need to rest my arms and shoulders. It still hurts when I try to scratch the opposite shoulder. Well, I might work my abs tomorrow. My legs, especially the joint from the thighs to the hips (bikini line, I think) hurts too! So no inner thigh work either!

I wonder when will be the day when I'm not so sore with regular exercise!

Walking is GOOD !

Soaking in epsom salts
in hot water for 15-20
mins helps my soreness.

But check with a nurse
or someone before you
try it because of your
medical condition

That muscle soreness always gives me a secret sense of accomplishment. Just be careful not to push yourself too hard.

Could it have something to do with your illness? Try stretching and ice alternating with heat, that might help. Take care - Ruthie

I saved quite a lot of money today!

Thursday, July 05, 2012

Can you believe me and my Mom bought a dozen packets of shower gel refills today?! Crazy, right. But it was on sale and I always use the same brand anyway. So I ended up saving quite a bit. I also bought 2 boxes of Nature Valley roasted almond granola bars and a huge punnet of strawberries (Driscol's from the US)! I also bought a spare bottle of conditioner and a bottle of toner.

It's true that most people spend more during a sale but I needed to get those things anyway! That means I don't have to buy shower gel and other toiletteries for quite some time now! I'm all set! LOL!

I guess if you use the same product often, then it's ok to spend a bit more, as long as it's still in budget :D

Do you think it's worth it?

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

The nearby mall is having a one day members' only sale. I was thinking of going with my Mom to snag some shower gel that's half priced. But sometimes, thinking of the crowds, I'd rather pay full price and shop in comfort. I'm really tempted to go though but's it's a little too late now, it's already 9pm and they close at 10pm.

What do you think? Would you brave the crowds just to save a few dollars?

If it is really nearby and it is half priced, then it is worth it.

I don't like shopping in big crowds people can be so rude. If it's only one item not worth it.

I don't like crowded stores however when we lived in Malaysia one could slip through a crowd without being touched or bumped. I didn't mind standing in line but it would shave to be a really good sale. If it's only one item, maybe it's not worth it.

I hate shopping any time, but especially during crazy sales. But, I also have a hard time passing up a bargain. If I were going for just one item, I don't think it'd be worth it.

One of my favorite things about the Internet is shopping online!

If it's me, with just an hour to spare and on worknight, I rather stay at home. If it's weekend, lots of time, I most likely go, hehe. Anyhow, this kind of offer, I'm sure it's not one time only :D

I avoid long lines. Every time I go to a store the first thing I look for is the waiting line to pay, if there are more than 3 people waiting, I left everything behind and keep going. Or go another day of the week very early in the morning.

A lazy weekend!

Sunday, July 01, 2012

I didn't exercise much this weekend. Just walked mostly. My thighs are still aching. So are my arms. When I squart down on the floor or when I sit on the floor, it's very hard to get up. I find it painful to descend the stairs too. I used to find it painful to ascend the stairs too but thankfully this time round, it wasn't so bad...........

Still, I wonder how fitness instructors can do what they do without aching all over like me.........

Your muscles are aching because they aren't used to an activity, or the activity is more strenuous than usual. When fitness instructors first start out, they do ache, but the more they do the exercises, the more work they have to do to have the exercises "burn".

The only way to not hurt after exercise is to get REALLY good at the same exercises! :)

Putting everything in moderation into practice!

Saturday, June 30, 2012

I only had a small bowl of fried rice and a cup of hazelnut coffee as soon as I woke up at noon (hey! it's Saturday!). So, understandably, I was super hungry by the time 4pm rolled around. I was watching a movie around 2pm and surfing the net before and after my movie.

I decided to fry some fish and chicken nuggets, I felt a need for some. The old me would have gobbled up as many as I could. But I decided on a reasonable portion : 3 of each, that would equal 6 nuggets, which is a reasonable portion. So, I fried them up and now I'm satiated. Who says you have to stuff your face to be satisfied?

Ever since I started watching my portions, I've been satisfied with eating less. And with regular exercise, I've actually been gaining weight, but it's all muscle as many people have been commenting that I look slimmer! So, don't go by the number of the scale alone!

That is so true! Most of the time, the right portion does it.
