Finally did a dance DVD today!

Saturday, June 16, 2012

I finally got some good cardio in today! I did Just Dance with Julienne Hough. It's so fun and really works up a sweat. I really should do it more often but it's been so hot recently that I just didn't feel like it.

Well, I bit the bullet and made myself go through it today and I'm so glad! I feel so good now! (After a cool relaxing bath after all that sweating)!

I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants some serious cardio!

A decision which will take a long, long time!

Saturday, June 16, 2012

I had my hair trimmed like 2 months ago and it is still taking a very long time to grow. I've decided to grow it out some more so I can use my new chignon decorative clip! I need sufficient length to wear it. My hairdresser has cut some short layers into my hair for volume but the bad news is, I will have to wait like 6 months to a year before I can wear my hair in a chignon!

So, I've decided : no more trims till next June! (2013), unless it's my fringe! (I'm keeping a fringe now).

A nice day off!

Thursday, June 14, 2012

I took another day off from exercise today. Last night, my left hip kept aching as I turned about on the bed. I dare not exacerbate any possible injury, so I took another day off today. My Mom took me to a new mall today. I bought some yummy snacks and a new hair accessory. I really love my new hair accessory. But I have to wait till my hair grows longer to use it. It's a chignon decorative clip. I will post pics of it on my sparkpage when I can finally wear it!

As for the snacks, they were chickadees (a Malaysian snack food) and muruku (an Indian snack food). Today was really hot as well! I do hope this heatwave lets up!

I hope you feel alright now. Can't wait to see you wear it! :) Wow! I haven't hear those snack in a long time. I do not like the extreme heat too! Over here, it has been hot the past few days! We are in the 90s.
Take Care & Have A Blessed Day!

Waaaaay too hot to exercise!

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

I managed to do only the warmup part of the dance DVD today but felt the heat so much, I had to stop. If I had exercised with the air-conditioner on, I might get sick because to the temp change. Also, my hips are still aching, so I think I'll rest one more day. Sigh!

I've been having the midnight munchies a few times this week, so I was hoping to dance away the extra calories today. Oh well, I hope my hips will recover by Thursday.

But it wasn't a total loss though. My hips may be aching but I worked my butt, quads and my upper body for like 20 minutes altogether!

Good for you listening to your body. I don't like having the AC down to low as I get cold but I do adjust it down a degree when I workout just because I work up a sweat... course I keep it way higher than the average person....

I hope your hip is better... I get bursitis in my hips occasionally and it's no fun.

I totally know how you feel (it was stupid-hot up here yesterday too!). If I'm overheating too fast, I pull a rice bag out of the freezer and wrap it around my neck like a scarf.

To make the freeze-able/microwave-able rice bag:
1. Sew clean fabric (tight weave, preferably cotton) into a long tube with the right sides together. Double stitch all the seams to prevent rice from escaping.
2. Fold over one end and stitch shut (with a double seam again).
3. At the other end, sew a simple seam 1/2way across the top, leaving enough room to use a funnel to pour in rice.
4. Turn right-side out.
5. Pour in uncooked rice. The bag should be no more than 2/3 full. Any more than that and you'll have a bolster-pillow, not something flexible to wrap around your neck or back when you overheat.
6. Fold the rest of the seam inside the bag and sew straight across the top of the bag. Sew a second line.

You now have a flexible scarf good for cooling you down in the heat or heating up in the microwave for weary muscles/cramps!

Addicted to seedless tamarind!

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Oh My! I can't believe I've eaten so much seedless tamarind! It's so addictive. They are little pieces of dried seedless tamarind mixed with dried plum. It's really hard to get our hands on them because they're so popular.

Anyway, my Mom just bought 24 bottles. 16 will go to my Auntie in Singapore. She LOVES them! I love them too. Oh! they're soooooooooo addictive! You eat one piece and you just want another, and another and another! Calorie wise, they're not fattening but man! if I didn't control myself, I could finish an entire bottle (or 2!) in one sitting. Then my Mom will get mad because she loves them too! LOL!
