Walked for about an hour today!

65 minutes to be exact! I was sweating. I was a nice day, a little breezy and not too hot. I started my walk at 5.30pm, finished about 6.35pm. I actually wanted to do a dance DVD but decided to walk instead because it was so nice outside. I also ate some mulberries from a mulberry tree.

I didn't manage to get my morning walk yesterday because I was too tired that morning. But then, I'm never a morning person. I'll see if I can do a dance DVD this weekend. I was quite naughty last night, I bought some sweet potato fries, finished them this morning. They had an extra dusting of plum powder, at my request, delish!

    I walk 5 days a week for an hour. It's nice to be outside. It's dirt roads, very few cars and lots of woods to walk in. Those fries sound good but remember, it's 80 percent diet that makes you lose weight. You don't look like you need to lose weight though in your picture.

I've never had mulberries, I'll have to try them. Now sweet potatoe fries, oh yeah, now you're talking. They are definitely one of my favs. I eat them all the time. And did you say ... plum powder on your sweet fries! I'm drooling!

Choices that I made today!

My gf came over for brunch. I wanted to try the new McDonald's Chicken Foldover. I decided to just order to foldover a-la-carte as I didn't want the fries (they're just grease and empty calories), I also didn't want the coke, as it's all sugar! I ended up eating the foldover and just getting a small cup of ice that I pour my own water over.

Then, my gf and I had fun studying chemistry together with her as the tutor. I know, what's the point of someone who's finished school long ago studying chemistry. It's just for fun and to exercise my brain!

After that, we went for ice-cream. I had a blueberry sundae and she had an ice-cream sandwich. I really wanted a drink but most drinks there are sweetened. So, I ended up ordering iced water. For dinner, I just had 2 slices of white bread with margarine (white bread is all that was available in my home today).

In the evening, I went for Bible Study and for the fellowship supper, we had pumpkin soup and garlic bread. I'm afraid I had a little too much soup..........I hope I won't be too heavy for dialysis tomorrow.........ooppsss!

I also took another day's break from exercise today. I did 50 minutes of Pilates on Sunday. My legs still ache today. So this is day 2 or rest, I don't want to injure myself by pushing myself too hard. I'll see if I can squeeze in a morning walk before dialysis tomorrow morning. Otherwise it's a Cardio ballroom dance on Thursday!

My Mom's home again!

She went to Singapore last weekend to attend a wedding. She was staying with my Aunt. My Aunt actually came for a short visit last Wednesday, then on Saturday morning, my Mom went back with her (for the wedding).

She just came back tonight. Guess who's been in charge of meals when she was gone, muah! Good thing she left us lots of leftovers to heat up and enjoy. Me and my Dad are not big eaters anyway and my brother always works late, so it's just me and Dad.

I'm so glad she's back! I should have done the laundry when she was away though. My Dad and brother loves changing clothes at all hours of the day during the weekends, it seems....... Plus I have my own laundry to do too! I did keep her plants watered though, bet she'll be pleased!

I'm just so tired now though. Just came back from dialysis. I swear! It takes more and more out of me every time. Soon, I'll be like those old folk who come for treatment (if I live that long).

Lately, I've been munching too much. I need to quit constantly munching when I'm not really hungry! Also, I have to make sure I exercise more! Last week (on Saturday), I stopped exercising for 5 days because my whole body was aching after Tracey Mallet's Booty Barre workout! And I didn't even do all the reps continuously! I couldn't! I found it too strenuous! I had to stop midway many times. But still, my whole body was aching for days, including my back! Even my thighs and calves were aching.

I could have exercised last Thursday but my Aunt from Singapore was here and we ended up spending the day at the mall. We walked a lot though, so it wasn't a total loss. The previous Thursday, I skipped working out because my Mom and I went to the night market (pasar malam). We got lost of fruit! Rambutans, guavas, langsat and plums (I got 6 for RM5! Cool, eh?!).

I'll have to make sure I don't go beyond my calorie limit and I exercise consistently. I did 50 minutes of Pilates today. I love doing Pilates, especially Cassey Ho's Pilates workouts! ( www.blogilates.com ) But I also have to ensure I get my cardio in as well!

I skipped church again today! Too early in the morning for me, I'm just not a morning person! No matter how much I try, I will always be a night-bird that rises at noon! I know! I'm sooooo naughty! lol!

    I, too, munch too much! It had gotten better, but the past week it's been a little worse. Trying to figure out how to curb it.

How I miss my Saturday evening church service! It was the best... so no, I don't really go on Sunday, because it's my one morning to really just get up and relax. I miss that church though (I don't live in that city anymore).

Someone workouts really do do a number on us! Just start back when your ready or maybe toss it a little light yoga....

    Just make sure it's positive discipline. Beating up on ourselves, lecturing ourselves on how wrong we did, does nothing for improving our behavior in the future.

Think about what made things difficult. Getting too sore? Perhaps next time when you're very sore, focus on a simple activity like walking. Getting the blood flowing and using the muscles in a less strenuous manner can actually help ease the soreness. (I know I end up many times more sore if I sit all day rather than move.)

As for church, do they have a later mass / meeting? When I took my kids to go through their communion, we went to an afternoon mass, which was so much easier to coordinate having them ready, dressed, and fed.

Leftovers can be yummy too!

Right now, there is a big portion of fish curry, some mixed veggies (broccoli, celery & carrots), some french beans with tofu, some chicken and onion omelettes my Mom cooked on Friday and Thursday. She's now in Singapore in my Aunt's apartment. She's attending a wedding on Sunday. She left early this morning by bus. She'll be back on Monday!

Some people think : "Leftovers, ewwww!". But these are very NICE leftovers! Thank God for microwaves, a few minutes, and the leftovers are as good as new! But sometimes I wish my Mom would trust me to do the cooking once in a while though. I love cooking! Still, can't complain, I only have to reheat the leftovers to get a meal! There's also some leftover rice too!

    I agree! Leftovers are yummy. I always try to make a little move than what I need and freeze it to be eaten another day. My husband loves them too. Since we aren't always on the same schedule he can help himself to some healthy food at any time.

Hope your Mom has a great time. I love to travel....:).
