I knew that my knees will protest if I did another HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout, no matter how short; so I decided not to that today. I already did a 10 minute HIIT workout on Tuesday. I was feeling tired yesterday so today is workout day (Thursday). I thought of doing a Pilates workout but my muscles are still sore from Tuesday's workout, so I decided on a long walk instead.
I walked for 45 minutes, then I got a phone call from my Mom on my cell. She asked me to cook the rice (no biggie! we have a rice cooker) and drain the veggies in preparation for her to stir fry them (she was soaking them in water). She was on her way home, she was just going to pick up my brother from work.
Well, I did what she asked, took me less than 10 minutes, then I went for another walk, at a slower pace for 20 minutes to cool down. So, in total, I walked for 65 minutes! I don't want to push myself too hard. If my muscles are still sore, I need to give them time to mend and recharge before the next Pilates workout!
You need to pace yourself. After all this is a long-term thing. You don't want to push yourself too hard and then burn out! You can always push yourself again after your muscles have recovered!
Oh! Btw, I've recovered from my runny nose yesterday! Last night, actually!
