It was hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk today. I was on Sparks earlier with the air-conditioning on in the computer room. I usually do a workout DVD around 4pm, then take a long cooling shower around 5.30 to 6pm, that's my usual schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those are my workout days.
I workout during weekends too but Tuesdays and Thursdays are my DVD workout days. But today, I just didn't feel like it. So, I stayed in the air-conditioned room till around 6pm. Then, I thought, shouldn't be too hot now, and headed out for a nice walk.
But after walking for around 30 minutes, with a nice breeze, I headed to a friend's house for a visit. They were just sitting down to dinner so I pinched a few bites (I tracked it all). I came home around 7.30pm and had my proper dinner. But I had a very light lunch earlier (instant mushroom soup), so I'm still below my calorie limit. I'll see what else I can eat later.
I did like an hour and a half Pilates DVD on Tuesday, so maybe I can relax today, but I hope to kick my own butt again this weekend to make up for today's break. Oh well, I'll see...........

I went over my caloric allowance today all because I ate KFC!!!! I had one drumstick and one thigh; both hot and spicy, 2 buns, one serving each of coleslaw and mashed potato. I tracked it and was amazed at how many calories I have consumed!!!!
I don't even dare track the little sips of mountain dew!!!! Oh well, that just goes to show that I can't eat like this everyday! Why was I so hungry? I did 1 and a half hours of Pilates. I sweated quite a bit; it feels so good after a bath.
Oh Gosh! I hope I didn't undo the good of that Pilates session.............sigh! Well, back on the healthy lifestyle wagon!

Yesterday (Saturday) I did some tough Pilates. I'm not really sure, but I think it was like 30 minutes worth, but like I said tough. I couldn't even finish all the reps but the instructor (on Youtube) kept on smiling and doing it like it was nothing!
I wish I had abs like hers but she probably spends hours each day working out because it's her profession. I really like her workouts! She really kicks butt! For those of you who are interested, her name is Cassey Ho and you can find her on youtube under POP Pilates. And, like Sparkpeople, her workouts are free! How cool is that?!
Oh, on to the main subject of this blog. I'm still sore from Saturday's workout, so I took a slow walk today. But my right knee keeps complaining. I suppose I should rest on Monday. I sure hope my knee recovers soon though, cos I can't wait to do some HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), I hear that it burns some serious fat!

I knew that my knees will protest if I did another HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout, no matter how short; so I decided not to that today. I already did a 10 minute HIIT workout on Tuesday. I was feeling tired yesterday so today is workout day (Thursday). I thought of doing a Pilates workout but my muscles are still sore from Tuesday's workout, so I decided on a long walk instead.
I walked for 45 minutes, then I got a phone call from my Mom on my cell. She asked me to cook the rice (no biggie! we have a rice cooker) and drain the veggies in preparation for her to stir fry them (she was soaking them in water). She was on her way home, she was just going to pick up my brother from work.
Well, I did what she asked, took me less than 10 minutes, then I went for another walk, at a slower pace for 20 minutes to cool down. So, in total, I walked for 65 minutes! I don't want to push myself too hard. If my muscles are still sore, I need to give them time to mend and recharge before the next Pilates workout!
You need to pace yourself. After all this is a long-term thing. You don't want to push yourself too hard and then burn out! You can always push yourself again after your muscles have recovered!
Oh! Btw, I've recovered from my runny nose yesterday! Last night, actually!
