So Far, So Good..........

Well, I've made a commitment with myself to be more regular and consistent with the exercise and so far, I've done good. I've just completed a Pilates toning workout, it was a little basic but it still really kicked butt. I foresee that I'll be quite sore tomorrow.

My plan is this, do one DVD one day, then rest the next, do another DVD if I'm not to sore 2 days later, then rest another day. If I'm still sore after day 2, I will rest 2 days instead of 1 for my muscles to recover. I might take a long walk on day 2 though, to make it seem that I'm doing something.

This is I think week 2 or 3 and I'm doing good. I will press on! This feels good! The feeling you get after you've done a workout is soooo good! I think I'm learning to like exercise! And that is good!

A question of balance.....

I know of girls who have 'perfect' bodies. But is having a perfect body worth NEVER having an ice-cream or chips now and then and having to eat like a rabbit ALL the time?

This is a question I ask myself often. But I know myself : I enjoy food; and I know that I will literally DIE if I can't have a burger, chips, ice-cream, pizza, etc. now and then.

I know I still have some weight to lose but I won't hate my body just because it's not perfect. I will continue to exercise and try to keep within my calorie range. But I have to have my occasional treat. Like today, I had an ice-cream (an almond Magnum), then to get some fibre, I had an orange. That's it, no more nibbling on cookies! After all, I still need to control myself. I may not have a perfect BMI, but at least I'm not obese.

I mean having occasional treats is fine but you can't go overboard and binge or nibble all the time. I think I'd rather have a not so perfect BMI than to go through life hungry all the time or wistfully just looking at things I can't eat.

  Hi there! I saw you blog title when I was checking in on the Christians Walking in Faith team I'm also on and it intrigued me to see what you had to say.

I've been struggling with this lately myself. While I acknowledge many have great success by counting calories, must I also do that for my success? I don't know but I'm praying about it.

Advanced Pilates workouts on Youtube!

I've discovered some great new Pilates workouts! My Pilates DVDs are pretty basic and easy. I was looking to challenge myself and I found POP Pilates on Youtube. I forgot the trainer's name : Cassey something but her workouts are REALLY tough.

I couldn't even finish all the reps like her! And some of her workouts, I can't even do, but I've downloaded them for the future when I'm more fit!

Beware of Jam Tarts!

Oh My! Someone gave us a package of jam tarts. They looked really appetizing, so I had one, then another, and another, before I knew it, I had consumed 6 of them!

Then, I looked at the nutrition facts and nearly fainted! Each leeetle jam tart had 140 Calories! Oh No! I've consumed a little over 700 calories on Jam tarts! Not worth it at all! I'm not even full! This is the last time I'm ever eating anything before looking at the Nutrition label! ARRRHHHHHHGGGG!!!!

    *sigh* I've so done that! Unfortunately you can't (healthily) uneat something. But don't beat yourself up about it! Just make sure that next time if you're going to splurge, make it something amazingly delicious so that you don't regret it!

I did my Cardio Ballroom workout again today! I got quite sweaty and winded. I may not be perfectly coordinated as the DVD instructor but the point of the workout is to get sweaty and burn calories, right?!

I feel so good! I'll have to remind myself how good if feels to have done a DVD workout every time I feel lazy and reluctant to exercise!

I will alternate between cardio and pilates! I love pilates too! I'm always a little sore after pilates, it really works the whole body! And I've had comments that I look slimmer even though I haven't lost any weight on the scale!
