I'm dead meat!

Wednesday, February 01, 2012

I can't even drink when I'm thirsty! I did that and I've been averaging more than 3kgs of fluid extraction each dialysis, which is bad! My doctor advised to to try to keep to less than 2kgs! It's just so hard! Too hard! What do you do when you're thirsty!? You drink of course. But now I guess I'll just have to go through my days thirsty!

Why must I be a dialysis patient?! Why must I have SLE?! It isn't fair! I'm not a bad person! Why must God punish me this way?!

Oh Elaine..I am so sorry you are going through this. But it will get better. It's hard when you feel so sick, and it seems like everything is wrong. But, you will feel better, and then things will be better for you. I think it's a learning process. Get together with a Dietritian or a Nurse, someone with some experience in what you are going through. You will start feeling better about life.. Just give it time. I'll be praying for some relief, a lightening of your Spirit! emoticon

Hello, Elaine. So sorry you are going through these horrible experiences. If I could help shoulder the experience for you, I would gladly do it. I notice a lot of people have suggested ice chips and lozenges. You can also put a smooth pebble about the size of the end of your thumb, and suck on that or just keep it under your tongue. It sounds weird, but it works.

You are a beautiful person and you have a lot of friends on SparkPeople who want to help and support you any way we can. I will pray for you. With God's help emoticon

P.S. I'm adding you to my friend list, but you don't have to worry about replying while you are feeling so sick.

No you are not a bad person. No God is not punishing you. God is making you stronger. Have faith. And try the ice chips. They do help. We are all in this together. Just reach out when you are feeling down. And God bless you.

I agree with MISS RUTH. God doesn't punish us even though it seems like it at the time. He gives us trials and tribulations and he is always there to help us through them. Keep your faith strong and listen he will answer your questions but in his time.

I don't think God is punishing you. Bad things happen to good people. Perhaps He is helping you through this experience, so He can use you as an example of what faith can do.

Maybe holding an ice chip in your mouth, and just letting it sit there (no chewing!) will help, when you feel really thirsty.

I wish I could take away this struggle. I agree with the last post, maybe chewing gum, or a mint would help? Cooling down your body quickly might help too, run cold water on your wrists, a cold towel around your neck? A cool bath?

I am sorry you are going through all this. Hang in there, perhaps try some kind of lozenge to keep your mouth moist, or gum. Perhaps that will tame some of the thirst.

I love the way my room looks now!

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

I spent almost the entire afternoon today cleaning my room! I basically tidied up my numerous books, wiped the table tops and shelves and got rid of some junk I never use or look at. But I didn't throw out much. I guess I'm a sort of hoarder. Maybe the next cleaning, I'll get rid of more stuff but right now, I'm pooped!

My room looks much better now though! And I've reclaimed the top of my writing table which was previously covered with books, mags and papers!

Can that count as exercise? Because I don't feel like exercising right now. It's about 6.30pm and it's still hot with no breeze! And I feel so dirty after all the wiping and dusting! I think I'll go have a shower now...........bye!

From now on, complete vigilance!

Monday, January 30, 2012

OMG! I can't even have few extra drinks at all! Look what happened today! I was 0.6kgs overweight after dialysis! This is Baaaaaaaaad! REALLY Bad! All right! That's it! No more extra drinks in between meals. And only one small cup per meal!

Being a dialysis patient REALLY sucks!

At last! A refreshing breeze!

Sunday, January 29, 2012

It's been so hot lately here in Malaysia! The wheather's been really erratic though. You never can tell when it will suddenly rain. The problem is, even is there is some rain, there is still no breeze! Which makes it very uncomfortable to exercise outside or inside too, for that matter.

Well, today, I decided to chance a walk in the park, and what do you know? There was a refreshing breeze! After so many weeks, there's finally a refreshing breeze. I took a walk for almost an hour before it started drizzling!

Well, it's better than nothing, after a week of inactivity. Tell you what, I promise I'll do a workout DVD this Tuesday!

It's summer all year round here! We're smack dab on the equator!
I'd love winter and snow though! It gets too hot here a lot of times!

I'm so lazy to exercise these days!

Saturday, January 28, 2012

I did go for short walk this evening to return my neighbor's mail. She lives at the next road but has the same house number as mine. I hope she'll also return my mail if she receives it by mistake too. I also walked to my hairdresser to get my fringe trimmed. Getting a full trim is normally quite pricey here, so he was kind enough to trim my fringe for free. Cool, huh?

But I still bought his normal fee for trimming a fringe which is RM10. When he waved aside payment, I went next door to the dessert shop and had a Garfield Snow Ice. It cost me RM6, so I had RM4 left for my next meal.

You wouldn't believe how hot it is these days! I does rain some evenings but there is no breeze! And my Dad is home from work for a week (tomorrow, Sunday, is the last of his week off), so I can't have the TV to do my workout DVDs. Maybe I'll do one next Tuesday, my Dad will be back to work on Monday onwards, so we'll see!
