It's getting harder and harder to get my brother a gift!

Sunday, January 15, 2012

My brother is in his mid-30s and yesterday was his birthday. It's just getting harder and harder to get him a gift that he would like now. When we were kids, it was easy, he loves those little cars that kids play with and adults collect.

But I don't know what he likes now. Maybe next year, I'll just cut all the trouble and give him cash instead! This year, I got him a nice bag of mixed nuts, peanuts, almonds, macadamias and cashewnuts. But he won't accept it. I just left in on the table hoping that he'll take it, but after a week, if he still ignores it, I may have to take it back to avoid wastage.......sheesh!

I take back what I said - maybe just let it be. Give as you desire. Someone I met said gift-giving it's more about your expression of love for the other person, not an obligation. Cinnamoncat9 is right that if he doesn't accept it, that's his problem.

I would talk to him. How cruel that he would not thank you, accept the gift, and move on. Really! This is his problem, not yours! How kind to get him a gift!

Wow, why wouldn't he accept your gift?
Try getting him a book, but ask for ideas or do gift card.

Depending on your budget, electronics can be good. Like headphones (earbuds), mp3 player, or tablet. Another idea is a gift card or like you said, cash. No one turns down cash! emoticon

Why don't you just ask him what he would like? That way he gets something that he likes. Make sure that you get at least several ideas and then pick from them.

It's true, use only official ink catridges!

Thursday, January 12, 2012

I made the mistake of buying refillable cheap ink catridges and inks and now my printer head is spoilt! It has cost me more than RM100 to get my printer repaired. I will have to use the expensive original catridges now. And that means less printouts. I can only use my printer if it's really important.

I can' t use it to print DVD covers or fun stuff anymore. Sigh!

CNY is coming soon!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Well CNY (Chinese New Year) is coming soon! And this year will be the year of the dragon! As a Christian, I don't believe in Feng Shui and all that stuff, so I don't know much about those horoscope stuff, Chinese OR Western!

Well, most Chinese homes are full of mandarins (healthy) and fatty snacks now (not so healthy). My Mom said that she wouldn't be buying the fatty snacks, but she caved in and bought some anyway. Sheesh!

Anyway, for this CNY, I've promised myself to stop the mindless munching and I'm actually aiming to lose some fat, not gain, this CNY!

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Yup, I've sent the payment for my coobie bras today. I hope nothing goes wrong! I sure hope it won't get lost in the mail or something. And I hope that they will contact me as soon as they receive my payment.

I had a good time in the mall today. But I'm a lot poorer now :(

Well, I hope I get my bra's soon!

bras#

The coobie is a very comfortable bra that less confining than a sports bra and dressier, you can use it in place of a camisole.

I've given you the link above. Believe it or not, I was introduced to it by Sparks itself! In the dailySpark Blog Entry.

I'm about to make a major purchase.........

Monday, January 09, 2012

It will cost me quite a lot. But I consider it an investment. I'm going to buy some ultra comfy sports bras that can also double as camis. They're not exactly sports bras, per say but I can wear them when I do my Pilates.

I also intend to buy a proper Pilates mat so my back doesn't hurt when I'm doing my Pilates exercises.

Both these purchases cost about the same. I guess I have some saving to do.......

Are you able to access any websites that sell online? If shipping costs would not add too much, you might be able to get a cheaper mat. I could not afford either the American or the Malaysian prices -so I might try to purchase a roll of foam rubber to use as a mat. If they don't give it a "fitness" name, it might be way less costly. Personally, when I do exercise at home (instead of in the exercise room) I put two full size pillows on the floor. They are great for my back, nice and soft, and I already own them. emoticon

Unfortunately, USD20 is like 20 dollars to you but it's like 75 Malaysian ringgit.

and a good Pilates mat is like RM200 above here.

Do you have a walmart? They have exersize mats that are good quality (pilates/yoga approved) for under 20.00 -
and if you have a marshalls or TJ maxx or a discount store like that- they always have them for around 20.00

Same thing with sports bras always have them for around 20 and under! good luck!
