Dinners, Brunches and Treats!

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Well, well, what can I say? It all started last Friday, I switched my dialysis session from Friday afternoon to Friday morning because I had a doctor's appt. in the afternoon. So that's one more half day to my weekend.

Now, I'll admit I wasn't really watching my fluid intake. As a result, on Monday, I was shocked to realize that I had taken in 5.2kgs in fluids and food! As the maximum they can extract from me is 4kgs, I went home 'owing' the machine 1kg!

I thought I could rectify that today but I had put on 2.8kgs, which makes the total 3.8kgs that they have to extract from me. Well, I was ravenously hungry by 4.30pm, and when the Malays nurses went to get their dinner from the Ramadhan Bazaar, I requested 2 little sardine curry puffs.

Towards the final half hour of my treatment, my blood pressure stared to drop and my face began to get pale, so I was actually required to drink some more water. And add the curry puffs to that plus the extra saline pumped into me because of my low bp, I now owe the machine 0.7kgs! ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Can I say that again? ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

And when I got home and checked my email, I was reminded that this Saturday, I have a farewell dinner to attend for my Home Fellowship. One I don't want to miss! AND I'm going out Thursday noon with a friend from brunch. I've already made up my mind, no breakfast and no lunch tomorrow, just that brunch and a light dinner. I only hope I don't drink too much between now and next Monday. I hope I will return to my regular weight by next Monday........ARRRRHHHGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I just love messing with my hair!

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

I have loads of hair accessories and I keep adding to my collection. I make it a rule not to buy overpriced ones though. I've seen lots of beautiful hair accessories that are too expensive or maybe too heavy (those made of metal).

I only buy reasonably prices hair clips and accessories. I go for trims quite regularly; the recommended 6 weeks. I intend to let my hair grow a bit longer before my next trim though. I'm going to see how long I can go without split ends.

I'm itching to color it again though; with that new fangled foam color from Japan. Seems application is very easy and I only need one box as opposed to more than one box (like one and a half).

I'll have to walk to the shop one day and buy that foam color. I wanted to go today but the wheather was too hot for that long walk. I didn't get much exercise today, Dad forbid me from stepping out after dark because it's the 7th month (according to Toaist's beliefs : the month of hungry ghosts).

I don't believe in it but my parents do. So, I'm not allowed to go out after dark now........

Sorry you can't go out after dark, but I can see your dad only saying that because he's protecting you. Who knows? Maybe it is keeping you safe from something that you just don't know about? Let us know how the hair color turns out when you do get it done!

Walking alone after dark is not a good idea. Take your parents advise and be safe!!! emoticon

Making progress in my cross-stitch project!

Monday, August 22, 2011

I've finished the sewing, now I'm doing the outlines, after that, the background text.

A friend of mine is offering to treat me to a nice meal if I finish this project by the end of August. But a lot more needs to be done, so I'm not going to rush myself.

If she treats me, fine, but if not, that's ok too. The main thing is I enjoy my sewing!

A Nice Little Treat for me!

Sunday, August 21, 2011

I just bought a cute little lip shimmer from Burt's Bees! In their best selling colour, rhubarb, I think it suits me. I was having second thoughts : "should I buy it?" ; "should I not?". In the end, I decided to treat myself as it's a non-food item and I've gone so long without buying new lippies!

Well, no more lip thingys for me till I've used up all my lippies thingys. But for now, I'm happy!

Enjoying Meals out on a Budget!

Saturday, August 20, 2011

I treated myself to squid curry today at the 'mamak' cafe! RM3.50 for a little dish of squid curry, a little on the pricey side by Malaysian standards but not super expensive though. I also had poori with a potato curry thing (forgot its' proper name) and 3 layered tea. It was a little too sweet for my taste though. The waiter had to add more evaporated milk & more ice for me to make it palatable. (The poori was RM1.50 & the tea was RM3.00).

Then my Mom gave me a lift to the nearby mall. We had a soy ice-cream cone each. She said it was better than McD's ice-cream. Each soy ice-cream cone was RM2.50.

So, in Malaysia, even if you're not rolling in money, you can still eat pretty decently!
