Lot's of cheese crackers!

Saturday, August 06, 2011

I made lot's of cheese crackers for sale. I got the recipe from the net. But my aunt, who was supposed to sell them for me in the market told me that it wasn't up to scratch.

I spent more than 3 hours in total for this batch of crackers but she said they weren't tasty enough. I dumped an entire cup of cream cheese into the batter, I thought they were ok but this is my first business venture and it failed before it even got to the market.

I was just trying to get a little extra income by baking for sale. Guess I'll have to do more research, and taste more before I put anything out for sale.

On the exercise front, I finally took a 45 minute walk around the neighborhood park and roads. Then I did a little strength training. I'll have to do better next week, if I'm to be hot this August!

Did you get any other opinions? Maybe they weren't her cup of tea but others will like them.

Maybe she didn't want to bother with them. Were you going to be there with her to sell them? If you expected her to do the selling that may be the problem.

that's too bad! did you taste them first? Great job on getting some exercise in! You had asked on my blog what i did to lose weight. I counted calories and i did workout dvds. I started off with the 30 Day shred, then i did TurboJam, once i finished Turbo Jam i did TurboFire (which is a more advanced version of turbojam). I lost the most weight with TurboFire. Now i'm doing a hybrid of TurboFire and Chalean Extreme. If you're not familiar with those workouts check out Beachbody.com. I really like Chalean Johnson workouts, she makes it super fun and effective.

Durians Again!

Friday, August 05, 2011

I shouldn't be eating durians! I really shouldn't! Durians are poison to dialysis patients but they are so yummy! I wouldn't feel like a Malaysian if I don't eat durians!

Oh yes! The king of fruits! My Mom said around 9pm, let's go for some durians! My Dad was like : yeah! I was like : YEAH!!! So, we headed to the durian stalls in another suburb and it was packed with people eating durians sitting on plastic stools at plastic tables. RM10, eat all you can!

I was fortunate we didn't join the durian buffet, otherwise it could have been the death of me! Literally! Instead, my Dad spent almost a hundred Malaysian dollars on good quality durians.

They were yummy. But I hope my heart won't stop tonight!

Oh! No!

Wednesday, August 03, 2011

I promised myself I would make a difference in August! Well, it's already the 3rd of August and I haven't even exercised to speak of! I don't even dare tick my fitness tracker because I know I have to honest otherwise I'm only fooling myself!

I'm REALLY ticked off at myself at the moment! I had such good intentions! Oh well, all I can do now is make tomorrow better, I guess!

Dear, there is nothing wrong with starting over.
After all, every day is a new day.

I love this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr:
"If you can't fly then run. If you can't run then walk.
If you can't walk then crawl. But whatever you do, keep moving."

Here are other good ones, but cannot recall where I read them”
“Perseverance is failing 9 times and succeeding the 10th”
“Success is failing 99 times and getting up 100” (or something like that)

It's okay. Just start today...it all makes a difference.

No no...don't say it's "already" the 3rd of August. Instead, say that it's "only" the 3rd of August. You still have 28 days to make a difference!

You can do it!

I Must Make it a Point to have PQT!

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

Yes! I went to home fellowship today and the pastor made a valid point. We my have our regular PQT (Personal Quiet Time).

As practising Christians, we should make PQT a priority and set aside some time each day for it. God wants a relationship with us. And we can only have a relationship with God if we make time for Him.

I've been very lax in this respect. I will make it a point from now on to carve out some time each day for PQT! I normally do it before bed. I will have to spend time with God each night and not go straight to bed. Reason being, I'm just not a morning person.

Have you done your PQT?

A Lovely Dinner for my Dad's Birthday!

Monday, August 01, 2011

We had salted duck's egg yolk encrusted prawns (very crispy & yummy),
Sweet & sour pork (fried crisp with a coating of sauce),
Birthday noodles (quite yummy too!),

The crown of the show, sweet and sour crabs! Very fleshy and sweetly fresh! Had a difficult time prying out the meat from the shells though.

Then we had mango mouse cake as the birthday cake.

A delicious day! But my Dad is getting old..........I had my picture taken with him beside the cake. If I had more money, I'll get him better gifts. I only go him a BPA free bottle to put his water in when he goes to work.......

You know I bet your dad is very happy with his new water bottle,he knows it was chosen and given with love , and that is far more important than the cost.
