Belly MUST go!!!

Sunday, August 31, 2008

OMG! I HATE my belly fat!

Pls God, zap it off, pls!!!

But of course God doesn't work that way, we have to do more cardio to melt the belly fat!

I may be lighter now but sometimes I honestly feel the only solution is liposuction! But I refuse to do it because I may get scars and it is the easy way out, so to speak.

Sigh! anyone else have this problem!

OK, that's it, cardio, I don't care if I have to run all day!
Belly must go!!!

Grrrrrrr!

Elaine

I wish it worked that way too! That's were most of my weight is too . I don't think liposuction is the answer either. May be some muscle training for the belly might help

Yup! I'm now abt 55kgs! That's a whole 2 kgs lighter than the pics of me!

Yes! Not only did I get my old body back, I'm even healthier and fitter now!

I'm also full of energy despite my health problems!

Oh and btw, a pecto vegetarian diet high in natural fiber (read : vegies and fruits) REALLY helps too!

Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

As for myself,,,I've been sort of yo-yo. I've been losing weight quite fast actually but I tend to snap at times and eat a bunch of chocolate and candy bars and then have to start over. Good news is that its happening less now.

Well.....

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Since I last posted, I haven't lost anymore inches nor pounds but at least I'm not gaining! lol!

I really, really hope to get off this plateau soon!

Oh, while I'm posting, I might as well explain what SLE is. SLE stands for Systematic Lupus Erythematosus, Lupus for short. It's a disease where your own immune system produces mutant antibodies that attacks your own organs, like the kidneys, the skin, your heart, even your brain.

In my case, it was my kidneys and my skin. The long and the short of it is, I now have to go for dialysis 3 times a week. I know it sounds horrible but I've come to terms with it. I could just go on and on asking everyone and God why? Why?! WHY?! but what good does it do?! So, I'm just taking it one day at a time and hoping for the best. My friends tell me that at the most I can hope to live for another 20 years, well I've been on dialysis for slightly over 2 years now so I guess I have slightly over 18 years more to live, that is if my calculations are correct.

So, does anyone here have SLE? Feel free to share!

Hi Elaine! Thanks for the encouragement! I have SLE as well. But, I truly think the 20 year thing has a lot to do with a positive outlook. We first knew about my condition when I was 14 years old - that 1st episode lasted exactly 1 year. I am now 43 years old. So, I've lived almost 30 years with this odd disease.

It wasn't until age 34 (really bad episode lasted 10 months - required 4 months of physical therapy to recover from) that the doctors FINALLY diagnosed the condition. I have SLE + Sjrogen's + Reynauds + asthma +++++. I am now 43 years old. Last July I suffered a minor heart attack & then a TIA in March. Apparently, in later stages, Lupus can cause my body to create blood clots without warning.

My maternal grandmother lived with many of the same conditions as me. She died in 1965, at the age of 50. At the time, Lupus was not really known about & barely understood. The ME listed her cause of death as a heart attack. Based on what I've learned about her & about my own medical history, I truly believe she had Lupus as well & that it had gone after her heart.

For me, I believe the single most important thing I can do to lengthen my lifespan, is to remain positive & surround myself with as much happiness as possible. I have 2 sons I love & I dearly want to enjoy my grandchildren some day. SO, I have much to live for!

Elaine, I know how hard this illness can be. Please feel free to write me anytime you need a listening ear. My email is gcarrington@excite.com

  Hello,
I am totally new to all of this...
I too have Lupus. Mine is mostly going after the joints @ the latest is the skin. Because of the joint problems (especially the knees) I feel limited with excerse. I have gained about 30-40 lbs. in the past two years & have been blaming it on the crazy medications I'm on & the lack of exercise. I'm still holding down a 32 hr. a week job in the medical profession, so I am on my feet 9 hrs. a day & constantly on the move, so by the time I get home I truely Crash. ENOUGH for my famous excuses. NOW is the time for me to try and get the weight off and start to feel good. I am so tired of feeling poorly and exhausted. Maybe some of that is from this poorquality life style? Not sure, but want to give this a try.
If there is anyone there that can help with low/no impact excercise and some motivation I would truely appreciate it.
Merryellen

My Progress So Far

Saturday, March 03, 2007

Hi, I joined SP 2 months ago and have lost a total of 3.5inches. I didn't lose much in terms of weight but I've lost inches. And ANY progress is good progress.

The main thing is, I'm not gaining and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I start losing again, if all those plateau theories are true.

I have a favourite pair of jeans that I would like to get into as well as several miniskirts I wore when I was 18. Well I did fit into the miniskirts back in 2003, before I was admitted to hospital after I fainted in my room. Long story that, well, the docs upped all my meds and I was in bed most of the time and I ate and ate, the long and the short of it is, I've put on weight and am now struggling to undo the damage and reach my goal.

Back in 2003, before the hospital episode, I was 57kgs, I'm now about 62kgs but I'd like to go further than 57kgs and go down to 50kgs, if I'm able to do that, hopefully, my belly fat will disappear too.
