Where has the time gone?

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Howdy; gee only 2 years since the last post. Good news, everybody; my weight has been stable at around 185 for those two years. I've fluctuated about 10 lbs lower at one point in the meantime.
Time to restart things again, and this time, I'm going to be making healthier choices, and the weight will just 'go away', and won't be a main focus this time.
6 years ago, I was a lot smaller; I was also very, very unhappy. Now, I'm in a committed, healthy relationship, and I'm happy and heavy. I think this winter, I'll be learning how to be happy and slim. For the first time in my life.

mid-August update

Friday, August 12, 2011

Hey Everyone,

I have a day off, today, but just like everyone, we try to pack as many chores into our 'days off' as possible, to make our work-week smoother.
So, I'm travelling about 2 hours south, to the nearest city, to get some black pants that fit, and some chicken feed. One of these days, I'll add some chick pics. I don't know if I've told you before, but we (my bf and I) got 26 Brown Leghorn chicks at the end of April, and now, we've got 13 girls and 13 boys, and everyone's getting a little frisky. There's too many boys, so sometime in late August, we're going to have to make some life and death decisions, on who's going to live in our freezer. Sorry folks, but this is the way farms work. (at least ours, anyway).
At least one of the girls (aka pullets) is laying eggs. We got our first EVER farm-fresh egg just the other day. Got pics of that too.
Anyway, as you can tell, I'm procrastinating getting ready for the big trip into the city. The trunk on the car isn't opening (there's something in the keyhole); I've called up the dealership, but they haven't gotten back to me. So, in other words, I'm not really looking forward to loading 25kg (that's about 55 lbs) bags of feed through my back seat, into the trunk. Oh well, life is good otherwise. I've gotten a whole lot stronger since my last update. I'm totally loving working produce at the local grocery store. Nothing like getting a workout at work!
Take care. You know by now that I'll probably be back in about a month.

back to 'regular'

Monday, April 18, 2011

During the past few days, I've been trying to concentrate on having more iron in my diet, and the nutrition tracker has been INVALUABLE

Anyway, I've been keeping busy here at work; too bad I've been too busy to get the monthly inventory done. Hopefully in the next few weeks, there will be someone, ANYONE apply to the part-time clerk position here at the liquor store. It'll take a lot of pressure off of all of us, I hope.

Trying to keep positive, but things are still getting to me. I had a tension headache about 2 hours into my shift. Mercifully, it seems to have left.

Just keeping it short, as I have noticed what time it's getting to be. Better get the store floor mopped.

2nd day back at work...

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

and, (because I work retail) It's FRIDAY already! haha

Anyway, I've put away 2 pallets of beer and liquor today; it took me 3 hours, but I've burned almost 900 calories. Now, it's 9pm, and the nacho chips we sell are calling my name. I've got 2 hours left in this shift, so I'd best eat my snack (broccoli/cauliflower soup) and be a good girl.

Plans for the 2 days off; henna my hair, dig in the garden, tend the seedlings, do some stretching, & CLEAN. Rick and I have made some good progress on keeping up with the chores, but there's always more. Keeps life interesting, that's for sure.

mini 'stay-cation'

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Hey everyone,

So, I requested (and got) 5 days off in a row from work emoticon
For the last 2 days, my boyfriend, Rick, and I have been double digging the new garden. I remembered to wear my cardio monitor, and over the past 2 days, I've spent 6 hours, and almost 3000 calories. So, my diet hasn't been totally within my limits, but the sparkpeople tracker is admonishing me, telling me that if I'm going to work that hard, that I need to change my nutritional goals.
I'm back at work, wearing the only pair of pants that fits, and I can't believe it, but the thighs are a little bit looser than they were last week.
Now, to keep this momentum going, and keep losing inches, if not pounds.
