Didn't realize anyone was paying attention! LOL

Friday, January 28, 2011

Just kidding about the title. I know that there are a lot of you that keep me in check and to you, I am forever grateful. I should be "back on schedule" now. Crazy week. Crazy week. Crrrrazy week, but a great one.

I have a hard time sparking when i'm working from home. I get so engrossed in what I'm doing that the day flies by. Before I realize it, the day is over (I've usually worked straight through lunch) and its time for me to make dinner.

When I work from home from my house (not husby's), I have a "routine". However, I can't seem to get into one at husby's house. That is my goal for next week... to figure out a routine while I'm at husby's.

And geez, I need to get out and workout! The snow is driving me nuts! Cabin FEVER! :) Now that I'm at my home, though, I have access (and no excuses) to a treadmill.

Ok, I can't type a whole lot more. I promised my Dad I would work the end of his shift on the ambulance this evening and I work day and night shift tomorrow and day shift Sunday at the ski area.

Barring any chaos tomorrow (but with 800 in group sales, I doubt it will be chaos free!), I will be back to my sparking self.

Hugs,
Janette

Not feeling very bloggy lately...

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Sorry friends, I just haven't felt like typing. I guess I've been enjoying life too much away from the computer! :)

I promise to be more diligent (I think I've said this before), but the precious few moments I get with the hubby (who had an extra day off this hitch, BTW!) trump everything.

Love to each and every one of you,
Janette

Crazy dreams

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

I had crazy dreams last night and didn't get much sleep. I kept waking up. My husband IMed me after I had gone to bed as well. I like that he does keep in contact, but still, another distraction.

I set my alarm for 0500 this morning and was set on finishing the P90X video I started. Nope. Got up, shut the alarm off, went back to bed.

Tonight is card night with Mom and Granny. I wish we could find a fourth person to play bridge. It works with three, but takes a little jockeying around.

It is cold and rainy here today. 37F with drizzle. I cannot stand this weather... warm and rain, cold and snow are fine. Cold and rain. Bleh. This is when I need an extra shot of Vitamin D and to go sit under my lamp. I guess working in the basement of my office doesn't help either.

Yesterday, I stood on my front porch in bare feet. Ok, it was a little cold for bare feet, but it was sunny and pretty (and almost 50F)! I really enjoyed my run. It was nice to get out of the house/office and just do it. It also reassured me that my obstacles on the dreadmill are 100% psychological. I need to get over myself and start pounding out good workouts on that thing.

I came to work this morning, but looking at the weather, I think I may want to head back up the hill soon. They are calling for ice this evening at my place. We shall see. My boss is pretty loose on things like that.

So, lets try a list of positives and a list of goals like Debs does (thanks again for the idea!):
Positives:
-I ran outside (broken record here!)
-I stayed in my WW points target yesterday (had .5 left at the end of the day)
-Tried a subway kids meal with apples and water instead of chips
-Got some chores done around the house, including changing the snowblower off the tractor and put the blade back on and plowed my 1/2 mile long driveway
-Played cards with Mom and Granny for a half hour between WW and running

Goals:
-Stay on track food wise
-Card night with Mom and Granny!
-Resistance bands when I get home
-Run in the rain (although the weather is reported as "overcast" right now)
-Straighten the house since I'm leaving for husby's either tonight or tomorrow

If I could give you each a gift, here are the things that popped into my head:
-John - a hug
-Apple - a sugar free cola that wasn't yucky
-Chris - a spa day (away from that high stress job of yours!)
-Robin - a 5k with beautiful scenery that we could do together
-All my spark friends - happiness and health in 2011

Love,
Janette

Outdoor activity.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

I got out and ran at the state park today. It was wonderful.

Went to Weight Watchers tonight. I am up 1.5 pounds from two weeks ago. I'm okay with that. I have been insatiably hungry for the past several days.

I don't have a lot today. I need to pack up my lunch and get in the shower.

I am so glad to have each of you. Thank you friends.

Love,
Janette

    Great attitude.

Hope you enjoyed your lunch. Running out in the open like that -jealous. Ok maybe not running but I sure could spend hours walking around snapping pics.

No worries on 1.5 lbs. You will get it. Have a good day tomorrow.

Another one down in the book.

Monday, January 17, 2011

I started a "new year" off right. That's right, folks, I turned the big 3-5 today. And, as promised, I would like all of you to go to JohnJT1's 1/6/11 blog and read the "12 things you should know", courtesy of his baby sister. I told John that I was going to do this on my birthday. I read each one, some aloud, stopped and took a moment to reflect on each. Thanks again John for that blog.

In keeping with my new year, I got up 45 minutes early and did P90X. I have had the DVDs for a while and started them a while back. This time, I read the warning/disclaimer at the beginning and one part caught my eye. "anyone with a...., shoulder.... injury". Hmm, I've had one complete shoulder reconstruction and one partial. I was not going to use these as an excuse. I started into it and before I realized it, I needed to be getting ready for work. I got about 20 minutes of it done. I am going to try to finish the DVD tonight or tomorrow or whenever.

The song lyrics to "Feelin' Groovy" have been running through my mind all morning. "Slow down, you're going too fast. We gotta make the morning last". We need to make the DAY last. I am going to slow down. I enjoy my busy time, but holy cow, yesterday was so nice... even though I did have to beat on my tractor with big tools for a while. :)

I told my coworker this morning, just having that one day off yesterday, I feel like my life is back in order again. Sure, I still have things to do, but I got rid of the clutter last night. I guess I should say, I reset last night. It felt great.

I am exactly 6 pounds heavier than 1 week ago today. I'm sure it is that tasty italian sandwich (sandwiches!) I ate. I don't care. Like Coach Jeff used to tell me, "you know how to lose weight, now do it." And he's right. I had my day of yummy over indulgence. Now, back to what I know and love. My routine. :)

Have a wonderful day, friends. Give yourselves a hug for me.

Love,
Janette

"You know how to lose weight, now do it."

Thank you for that Janette. You seem to know the right thing to say at the exact moment I need to hear it. I have been lazy the past few weeks, living healthy more in my head than in my heart. Thanks for those words. They are what I needed to hear. Gonna put them on my Spark Page

Happy Birthday to you. I hope you have a great day!!!

Much Love

John

emoticon Happy Birthday!! I am glad you had a wonderful day and feel at peace now. That is a wonderful feeling. The 6 lbs will fly right back off especially by using PX90. I have heard good things about that series. Good luck with it. Have a wonderful week and stay with you workouts.
