I got out and ran at the state park today. It was wonderful.
Went to Weight Watchers tonight. I am up 1.5 pounds from two weeks ago. I'm okay with that. I have been insatiably hungry for the past several days.
I don't have a lot today. I need to pack up my lunch and get in the shower.
I am so glad to have each of you. Thank you friends.

I started a "new year" off right. That's right, folks, I turned the big 3-5 today. And, as promised, I would like all of you to go to JohnJT1's 1/6/11 blog and read the "12 things you should know", courtesy of his baby sister. I told John that I was going to do this on my birthday. I read each one, some aloud, stopped and took a moment to reflect on each. Thanks again John for that blog.
In keeping with my new year, I got up 45 minutes early and did P90X. I have had the DVDs for a while and started them a while back. This time, I read the warning/disclaimer at the beginning and one part caught my eye. "anyone with a...., shoulder.... injury". Hmm, I've had one complete shoulder reconstruction and one partial. I was not going to use these as an excuse. I started into it and before I realized it, I needed to be getting ready for work. I got about 20 minutes of it done. I am going to try to finish the DVD tonight or tomorrow or whenever.
The song lyrics to "Feelin' Groovy" have been running through my mind all morning. "Slow down, you're going too fast. We gotta make the morning last". We need to make the DAY last. I am going to slow down. I enjoy my busy time, but holy cow, yesterday was so nice... even though I did have to beat on my tractor with big tools for a while. :)
I told my coworker this morning, just having that one day off yesterday, I feel like my life is back in order again. Sure, I still have things to do, but I got rid of the clutter last night. I guess I should say, I reset last night. It felt great.
I am exactly 6 pounds heavier than 1 week ago today. I'm sure it is that tasty italian sandwich (sandwiches!) I ate. I don't care. Like Coach Jeff used to tell me, "you know how to lose weight, now do it." And he's right. I had my day of yummy over indulgence. Now, back to what I know and love. My routine. :)
Have a wonderful day, friends. Give yourselves a hug for me.

My husband came to visit between shifts today, Well, he came in last night and stayed through this afternoon. We talked and laughed and just had a great time. He made me birthday lunch. It was so tasty.
I need to finish sparking and get to bed, but I wanted to say that I really enjoyed my quality time. Back to the grind tomorrow... work, workout, meeting tomorrow evening, etc.
Quality time is so precious, friends. :)

I tried to run on the treadmill this morning before work. I know with a combination of poor nutrition yesterday (stayed on track, but didn't evenly distribute meals), early morning with not so good sleep, etc. made for a hard workout. It just seems like my home treadmill is harder to run on than any other treadmill I run on. I'm sure its because its new and all the others I run on are older, but GEEZ. When did running get hard again?? :(
I barely eked out 2 miles including my warmup walk. I felt like crap the whole time and afterward (physically during and mentally afterward). I got back on and walked/light jogged for another 20 minutes. I eventually did 3.3 miles total. I plan on walking and/or strength training at lunch time. I am really disappointed in myself.
Its like a switch flipped in my body and it thinks its time to hibernate. No hibernating this year. I'm sure the aversion to the treadmill is mostly psychological... I hope.
ok, all negativity aside, here are my positives:
-I stayed on track yesterday even though my meals were really screwy (I had a half cup of cottage cheese and didn't eat anything else until 7PM)
-I finally got out of the house despite the snow
-My husband is coming to visit tonight and is making me (early) birthday lunch tomorrow! (did I mention he's Italian and an excellent cook?) :)
-My dog that had surgery is doing a lot better and is back to his energetic self (pretty good for a 13 year old, 95 pound husky)
-I am working the "late" shift, so I didn't have to be at work until 0900, so I got to spend some time with mom and granny this morning
Goals for today:
-Stay on track eating wise
-Move more (Already did my dreadmill workout this morning, hoping for more later on today)
-Get a nap (my roommate and dogs kept me up last night)
-Make it home on time! (I have no control over this, but I can always hope, right?)
-Give my husband a great big hug and kiss tonight. :)
My lists always have to be 5s for some reason.
Ok, I am going to enjoy my idle time (I dare NOT say the Q word at the station... its a superstition). Have a great weekend.

I read the reflection and I should reflect, instead, I'm going to enjoy my quiet time working from home. The fire is crackling, the dog is asleep on the bed, I have a couple of things to accomplish during my lunch break (unfortunately working out is not one of them).
So with that, friends, have a great one. I am going to enjoy my time away from the computer.
PS I forgot to mention, MY BEST FRIEND HAD HER BABY THIS MORNING! YEYYYY!
