Yesterday and today

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Yesterday I was so busy between working from home and trying to stay ahead of the snow that I didn't have time to blog. Needless to say, I didn't eat the best, but still did okay and I got a good workout shoveling snow and carrying firewood.

I am working from home again today. I have a meeting about 15 minutes from here, so the boss didn't make me drive all the way to the office just to drive all the way back up here.

Its 6F here. With the windchill its -12F. I thought about taking my workout stuff with me to my meeting because I would be only a few miles from the base.

Anyway, I need to get to work... or, I guess I should say, I need to get working!

Have a great Tuesday!

That's cold! But I've forgotten how cold, since I moved here. It been - guess what - raining cats and dogs here. But this morning when I was underneath my umbrella waiting for the bus, the rain made the city look beautiful actually.
Great job not getting out of control yesterday!
Enjoy your day!

No pictures today, but I'm still accountable.

I think I did well last night with my food AND I got to meet two other sparkers at the Christmas party. I loaded my plate up with half salad, a quarter string beans and the other quarter with beef tips and potatoes. No dessert and at the after party I had a glass of wine.

Here's what's on the menu today - 12 hour shift at station 3

Breakfast - kellogg's complete allbran flakes, 1% milk and a grapefruit
Lunch - veggie burger on light bread, cottage cheese, apple, almonds, baby carrots, oatmeal
Dinner - TBA, probably a salad or sub from the sub shop up the road.
Snack - baby carrots with hummus

I will walk to the sub shop to get dinner and some cardio. I don't know how to count the half hour or so of twister I played last night with my friends! I had a really good time.

Everybody stay safe today... I'm on watch! :)

    How awesome you're doing!
I haven't played twister in forever; that may be added to our New Year's party plan.
I bet it's not near as cold here as it is there, but we're supposed to have flooding over the next few days. Thankfully we live on a bluff!
Hope your day is easy and crisis free!

Friday accountability

Friday, December 10, 2010

I've been medicating for my back pain and it seems to be working. However, I hardly slept last night for some reason and had really weird dreams. Who knows. I guess I need to start drinking tea before bed again.

Here's my day that I can account for...

No snacks today because...

Dinner is my husband's work Christmas party (EEEK!) I must go on faith that I will not binge. I will track each and every mouthful. That is my goal for today. Oh, and to get a good, solid run in. :)

Have a great weekend!

I like to think of parties as samplers. If buffet-style keep portioins small and sample different things. Then I only make one trip.
You can't completely avoid calories but you can mitigate the damage and still have a wonderful time.
Good luck. You can do it.

Accountability - Day 5

Thursday, December 09, 2010

The internet is working once again at work, so I can post early today instead of late.

Its warmer and sunnier today, so I am definitely going for another run at lunch. I am a little sore, but I can manage.

Here's my food (DINNER POSTED!)

Lunch (Mom gave me two rich roll cookies when I dropped the dog off... How could I say no?? I wait all year for these!)

Snack (the cucumbers actually go with lunch, but I was trying to save a container)

Have a marvelous Thursday!! :)

emoticon And thanks for the pics. Believe it or not its helping learn that aweful phrase, "portion control." If I can see what others are eating then it's like, 'okay, I can do that. Yeah, that looks filling."
(By the way, peanut butter on bananas are my downfall, but oh so good.)

Conquering the elements - day 4 accountability

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

I ran today! 4+ miles in 19 degree temperatures (10 with the windchill). I feel so much better!

Here it is...

(not pictured: the nutrigrain waffle with 1/2 tbsp peanut butter... was in the empty container... I got hungry)

(I ended up not eating the oatmeal)

Dinner... (you'll have to trust me on this one)
-Hungry Girl chicken cordon bleu (1/2 chicken breast, 1 wedge laughing cow cheese, 1 slice deli thin ham)
-5 asparagus spears
-omaha steak potatoes au gratin
-2tbsp cranberry salad

Dessert... (again trust me)
-2 of mom's rich roll cookies (which, by the way, are 42 calories a piece WOO HOO!)

I am enjoying a tall glass of ice water right now... I'm very thirsty for some reason.

Nite nite sparkpeople!
