Here I go again

So...I have gained weight since I got married. There is something to be said about being happy and comfy....and something again to be said for sore knees and aching backI am not happy with my current state of non-fitness. So....I am going to begin working one on one with a health coach. I knew this couch before from diets past and she is phenominal. I know this issue isn't as much in the food as it is in my head. So....I am going to gice this my all.

10 Week Challenge

The Wellness Company I have partnered with started their New Year January Launch with many exciting features....one of which was a 10 week weight loss challenge. I love this company and all of its products so at the launch I was super excited to start this challenge. When I complete it, I am buying myself a fitbit as a reward. Last week was the pre-challenge for me as I didn't have all the stuff that I needed. I lost 4.4 pounds! My hubby took a efore photo and here I go. I officially start today.

Life Lesson Re: Exercise

Wow...I was sailing along the first part of the week. Monday I did an hour of cardio. Tuesday I did an hour of Yoga (I even got up early for the class). Wednesday I was a little bit tired so I did my 25 min, then slam; i got sick. I was fine one minute then had a flash sore throat that was an 8 on a 10 scale. I left work early. Went to the doc the next day for antibiotics,and have been miserable since. There was absolutely no way I could have exercised Thursday or Friday. And I didn't beat myself up about it. Today I am feeling better but still a tad nauseous. I did gentle cardio for my 25 min. I got the benefit of moving my body gently. I hope I feel even better tomorrow. The lesson I learned from this is to listen to my body. Be gentle with myself and know that I will get there. Today wasn't about calorie burn, it was just about moving gently an feeling better.

    Big hugs Kerry. i woke up with a sore throat..hoping its just a reaction to the flu shot i got thursday. i'm taking it easy today myself. just my normal walking, a little light cleaning, and RELAX.

Lessons from a square inanimate object on the floor.

We all know the thing I'm talking about....the scale. I imagine if my scale could really talk it would be saying "don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger". It would then go on to tell me what it's information contains and how this doesn't always mean weight gain. My scale would lovingly tell me that it also measures water and muscle. It would tell me to look at the information it holds and question the message rather than either jumping for joy or cursing it. It would also tell me that a square inanimate object lying in the floor should not dictate how I feel about myself or dictate the rest of my day. Look at how I feel overall. Do I feel energized and look forward to exercising? Great! That should tell me that I am doing something right and that the scale's message of numbers up or down should be looked at quizzically. I know if I am moving in the right direction and I also know if my behavior the week before stepping on the scale was one of self loving and care or not. Its not about being good or bad. Its about learning and moving forward and loving yourself in the process. The Japanese have a saying " Fall down 7 times get up 8". Learn from the past week, Love yourself and be thankful for the lessons learned along the way. And even learn to be grateful for that square inanimate object. Looking at it all from a loving perspective will show up in the results eventually. And love feels better than the alternative doesn't it? emoticon
