Well Gloomy Tuesday!!!!!!!

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

It is gloomy here and only 39! Usually I get to work and stay in but not today!! I have been out and had my yearly mammogram done!!!! While I was there the Technician took my to the Cancer Center and I visited with a lady there and I will take my chemo caps there as I finish them! It will be on my way home!! They had some there! The Cancer Center and Radiation share the caps that come in!!! Right now I can finish one every 2 or 3 days! I have lots of yarn from my Dad's and Mom's crafts!!!!! This will put the yarn to good use! Next went to the little grocery store up the road and got beans and corn bread for the other girls in the office and I had a pot pie!!! In a little while I will take Miss Moxie for her shots and follow up to her being sick last week! ( We do that for the boss)!
Now if I could get some work done in between!!!! emoticon
I hope everyone is safe, warm and happy!!! Have a Terrific Tuesday!!!!! emoticon emoticon

Glad you got your mammogram done. Only positive thoughts for negative results!!!
Very icy morning with delays everywhere. Then the temperatures warmed up and melted the ice and and much of our snow. WOOHOO!! Supposed to have freezing rain and snow tonight.
Glad to see your week is going well.
Hugs,
Helen

A gloomy day here too, but like you, I've made the most of it. Isn't it nice that you can drop the caps off on your way home?! Synchronicity is awesome, isn't it?!

We didn't have a choice they changed it from Good Friday to MLK day. I'll take it as I love a day off. But i would prefer it to be in April as it would be spread out better, making it more appreciated. I worked the weekend so i was really grateful to have Monday off. I am glad you enjoyed your day at work. I hope your whole week is terrific!

Uh......no way in heaven, hell or earth would I even dream about punching......I, for one, "buy this" 100% - but then again, I think anyone who has returned to the working world from the damned "dole" would likely feel the same way!

Have a great week, my friend!

Crochet Chemo Caps!!!

Sunday, January 16, 2011

The simple pattern is from www.headhuggers.org/patterns/cpatt05.htm.
The fancy one is from Annie's Attic Crochet Pattern book Chemo caps & wraps.
I hope to make a lot of the simple one . The next simple one I make I am going to use a bigger needle to make it larger.
I also found a Chemo cap (looks simple) on www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-Hats-Scarves-Gl
oves/A-Chemo-Cap-to-Crochet.
Now I am off to crochet!!!
Enjoy your evening!!!! Susan emoticon emoticon

    Daisy:

This is so cool, I am not a crochet person, but my mother was and I have had several friends that have needed these kinds of caps. I know you will be very blessed my making them. My sisters tried to teach me how to crochet. All of them said I was a (lost cause) when it came to learning that, but I love to cook and try new recipes, so I guess I better stick to that.

These are looking good! I know my grandma said the one they gave to her was just soooo not fashionable ;) LOL (she WAS a new york city lady afterall). These are cute though :) They don't look like some of the bargain bin yarn ones which end up being just as depressing. Thank you for making cute hats!

Beautiful work. Both the caps and what you are doing for the cancer patients. God is using your talent to serve so many people in need.

I have to ask... How do you do that? My daughter has been trying to learn & our work turns out horrible. I mean we can't even make a dishcloth. emoticon.
Any tips on how to succeed at it? Or a better way to learn than from a book?

Please message me if you have any tips. Thanks!

That is such a worthwhile project. The hats are lovely. I wish I knew how to crochet. Will you be selling them or donating them to cancer patients?

How nice to have your grandson overnight. I don't get to see my grandkids nearly enough. They grow up so fast.. I made a couple of calls this morning, had to call and wish my brother happy birthday(60) and catch up since I hadn't talked with him for awhile. Today we actually have sunshine so I will be going out for a walk after lunch. Enjoy your weekend.
