calorie craze yesterday, and back on track today

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Ok I went calorie crazy yesterday at dinner...

Two of our closest friends and their newborn are moving away and we went over. My boyfriend and his buddy fixed my car...which was leaking water into the passenger side and messed up my carpet! It was a freakin swamp in there! So they saved me a few hundred:-). Anyway, we ordered pizza and drank beer. I ordered my side with veggies only but still made some damage. Also had a few beers. I tracked it and ate over 2,000 calories yesterday. Bummer...

So I woke up with a good attitude and just decided to hit the gym and forget about it fast! Reading the Spark has really encouraged me to be positive and not get down on myself for making mistakes...that's how the downward spiral continues. Instead, I have to continue to build upward.

So I had ff milk and fruity cheerios for bfast, a grilled chicken salad with vinaigrette for lunch, and working on dinner. I only have 2 chapters to go and am gonna finish the book today.

I'm glad you've gotten good ideas from the book - I have it but haven't had the chance to read it. I will have to soon =)

Good for you getting back on track! I had a little calorie binge myself on Saturday, but was proud of myself that I didn't let it carry over to Sunday.

overwhelmed...what have I gotten myself into

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Ok...breathe...is what I am telling myself.

I opened my big mouth and got my mom and gma all hyped up about a surprise party for my dad. I actually planned to do this last year but it all fell through. He is turning 51 and is the oldest of 4 brothers. He is also the most stable and respected one of the 4, and has managed to remain married for 25 years while the others have divorced and had their share of troubles. Anyway, he is still hard at work and is extremely selfless so he deserves it.

Now...I am planning a party for NEXT WEEKEND(I am an idiot) from 300 miles away!!! So here's what has to happen:

1. Mom has to email a pic of my dad when he was a kid, so that I can make an invite online and then have them sent to their Walmart so they can pick them up and distribute ASAP
2. Mom has to reserve the pavillion(it has to be in cash) on Monday before they get all booked
Note: My mom is a procrastinator, always late, always forgets things, so I'm nervous about #1 and #2
3. Urge the family to buy the food early this week so we'll have it ready to cook on Saturday morning(although this won't happen, I'll probably drive in Friday night and they will ask me to go buy it)
4. Buy decorations(this is about the only thing that I can control from over here)

And of course what's a party without drama...turns out my little sis, who also lives 350 miles away from home will be in town but has to leave Sunday morning. My older sis, who lives in town will be a church retreat until Sunday morning. The issue...whether to have the party Saturday without my older sis, or Sunday without my younger sis.

It was just supposed to be a low key thing with my immediate family but my grandma decided to ALREADY invite her brothers and sisters(my dads uncles and aunts)...HOLY CRAP

Anyway, I'm going to just get the invite started online and save it. Then I'm going to search for decor online at Party Pig, Party Universe, etc. That's all that I can do right now.

Going to watch Shrek and then go for a jog later on today. Oh and my car is totally messed up! It is soaking wet on the passengers side and behind the passenger seat because the AC is leaking water!!!

Ok, I have decided to do it in 3 weeks instead. That way my younger sis can ask for the days off and my older sis can be in town. I too can go in 3 weeks so done. This gives me time to slowly plan and get everything together. It was an impulsive decision and I now feel much better.

Wow! You certainly have a lot to do!

Have you looked into doing an evite? You can create the party invitation on-line and keep track of who has RSVP'ed. Here is the website in case it is something you are interested in http://www.evite.com/

Good luck!!

So I came home, ran to the store, came home to devour my dinner and bake a cake. Tomorrow is my school's 10th year anniversary so we are having a big carnival. My class was chosen to represent Kindergarten so I've been practicing a dance with them everyday. I also signed up to help make a cake quilt and had to bake a cake and decorate it with the letter E. Didn't get too creative and just made a yellow cake with white icing and an E made out of jelly beans. I am also volunteering to run a booth at tomorrow's celebration. It's been crazy!! All that and I've had tons of paperwork, tests, and deadlines.

But what's numero uno on my mind is health and fitness. I had a super busy evening and decided not to workout so that I could read a few more chapters of "The Spark". I don't feel bad for not working out because I stayed within my calories today and am getting a mental workout while I read;-).

Excited for tomorrow!

nothing much

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Totally didn't feel like working out today but finally got up and moving and did the shred level 2. So glad I did that.

Nothing else really happened today...except that I had a somewhat bad dinner when I went to Pei Wei. I made sure to pack half of it first for lunch tomorrow and then eat the rest. I was actually full off of that...can't believe I used to eat the whole thing!!!

Anyway, it's past my bedtime and I have to go to sleep.

Currently reading The Spark...so far so good.

workout and food

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Sitting here...already worked out...already had dinner...and I'm watching The Biggest Loser. I feel great!

I did The Shred level 2 and then added some extra moves at the end for about another 15 or so. I basically created my own circuits of strength/cardio/abs:-).

Food today was so so. I could've done better but eh...it's alright.

Bfast: chocolate cheerios, ff milk
Lunch: spaghetti with tomato sauce and beef(leftovers from last night at a friends...no it wasn't at all health conscious)
Snack-lowfat plain yogurt, strawberries, granola
Dinner: grilled burger(Orowheat sandwich thins, lean ground beef, lettuce, tomato, mustard), baked lays

Hoping to wake up tomorrow to do the Shred again.
