Hmmm, not very many calories compared to how many we take in! I know sometimes I really have to struggle to get the sheets tightly on the bed, when I make it up after washing the sheets! I can't stand to have wrinkles at the head of the bed! emoticon

I like to Bake, do you?

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

I started baking last week and, I made gingerbread cookies, pumpkin-oatmeal cookies with walnuts, then I made
oatmeal - raisin cookies. I also made a banana bread for my Mother in Law who is in Mexico. I put it in the freezer and, I hope she comes soon.
I plan to gift them(cookies) to our Priest, my Mother, and to a older lady
that is a widow. I feel good about giving them out to people that way I don't eat too
many. I don't know why during this time of year it is fun to bake, smell the cookies and,
the kitchen is nice and warm. It just makes me feel good to give people something I made, from scratch. I wish I could give all my Spark friends some cookies too. Enjoy the season.
Enjoy your cookies too.

I love to bake around the holidays, too! I will be baking 2 apple pies, a cherry pie, and 2 pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving! We also bake raisin oatmeal cookies and oatmeal chocolate chip (both with walnuts) and Empire Biscuits, which are Scottish Cookies (Matt's recipe) My family always looks forward to the Welsh bakestones (a Welsh Cookie which is grilled on the grill) so I too, have lots of baking to do! We give a lot of cookies away for the holidays, just like you do.

Walking Shoes -vs- Running Shoes

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

I have some old but comfortable walking shoes, they are about 5 years or more, but still are in very good condition. I ordered some new 'Nike' "livewire" - Live strong it says on the box, the
problem is I don't want to wear them, they are too 'pretty' and the pink color is what I wanted when I ordered them. I don't want them to get dirty - LOL. My question is should I use them now or save them and, gift myself for Christmas?? I can start the 'New year' with some "NEW"
walking shoes, actually they are supposed to be for running, you all let me know what you think, please.....Use them "now" or "January 2012"??

They are cute emoticon If they are REALLY comfortable do what I do.....buy two pair. I have brought several pair of black and white walking shoes by Nike...same pair because they feel so good on my feet.

That way...wear one..save one.

Wear them and enjoy them - but keep the old ones, too. Shoes are like friendship. The old ones are reliable and comfortable and hard to part with. The new ones are fresh and pretty, need to be broken in a bit until you are comfortable with them, but then they are just as comfortable as the others.

Your new shoes are indeed very pretty! If it were me, I would wear them now, but not for exercise. I would wear them when I went somewhere in public. Enjoy them; that's what they're for. emoticon

I am a 3 year BC survivor because of my routine mammogram. (No cancer in my lymph nodes) Cancer was small & I got by with a lumpectomy & chose to take 33 radiation treatments. I also take a small pill everyday (for a total of 5 years). Keep those routine appointments. They are so important!! No cancer on either side of my family.....I was shocked when they told me.

Stay healthy.

Always a good reminder. My clinic always notifies me when it is time for the next one.
