Hmmm... So my thought for today is this: I feel like I am actually doing it! This process is hard and slow and exhausting, but I am not going to give up! Since September I have lost 43 lbs and weigh less now than I have in YEARS! So this is my little pat on the back to encourage myself to keep going! = )

    I'd say you were more than doing it! I'd call that "aceing"it.
43 pounds is tremendous! That kind of weight loss is inspiring to us all. Thank you for sharing, and yes, it really is hard, and slow. I have only begun the journey you've been on for so long, so you have my admiration.

I have been slugging through this whole weightloss thing and I am definitely feeling more like a turtle than a hare. So far I have lost about 35 pounds and a few people have actually started to notice, which is nice. I got laid off from my job on Friday, which I am looking at as a good thing. I was plan on starting college in the fall and I am going to become a nurse, and now with out a job I will be able to focus on that more. I have found that so far it is actually easier to exercise and eat right when most of my focus is not actually on exercising and eating right. I think that is because when I was at my boring job with really no long or short term goals besides my weightloss, all that I could think of was food and exercise. I would go for walks thinking that I had to go for walks and while I was walking I was thinking about what I could eat for dinner. Now that becoming a nurse is my main focus it is much easier to find something else to think about besides food and exercise and that part just seems to be falling into place. Anyway, I am not starting school until the fall which gives me a few months to either do really well with my weightloss, or it could screw me up. It has only been like one day, so I guess we will see where things go from here! I am so excited to begin my new journey, and I am hoping that I will have the strength to reach both of my goals!

I got some tickets to a Badgers football game for Saturday. My husband and I were talking about it and we realized that we did not have any badger shirts! So we went over to Kohls to get some to wear to the game tomorrow. We both got XXL t-shirts (the biggest size they had). He drowns in his and mine is skin tight. Nothing like that little kick in the teeth to keep you motivated to get rid of this extra weight that I have been carrying with me for way to long!!

    get the word diet out of your head. this is a life change. follow the plan that is laid out by sparks. I, myself, eat every 3 hrs. something small. fruit, snack on veggies. I dish out small portions. at first it is hard to adjust but your body will. feel like eating when it isn't time? go for a walk, drink ice water, work on a project. if that doesn't work then maybe your body needs something. have low calorie snacks on hand. eat slow, drink water. you can do this. we are here to help. I have been there, done that. I'm still not at my goal but on my way. I do stubble and fall but I have friends who hold out their hand to help me up. we will do that for you. hold out your hand. emoticon

    Congratulations on your first blog. Keep up the good work. The more you put into you program (blogging, huddling, tracking food and exercise minutes, posting on your team pages, earning spark points) the more you will get out of your program- besides weight loss, you will get emotional support, friends who understand exactly what you are going through, accountability, focus, dependability...and the list goes on...

    I went through EXACTLY the same with my hubby, only it was the LA Dodgers... he bought me an official MLB (ie. over-priced!) baseball shirt to match the one he'd had for years - I was SO excited, til I saw how baggy his shirt fit and I can't even button mine... emoticon emoticon
