Wish I had time to join in! I loved Uglies by Scott Westerfield. Loved the whole series, but the first 2 were the best. I am reading The Roar by Emma Clayton. Not halfway through yet, but good so far.

Have you read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins? Good one.

Good luck on your week!

My sister called me a nerd because when I bought the physics book, I kept it in my purse. It's a small book! But still very interesting. I have other books on physics, otherness, extinction and all kinds of stuff like that from debate. I really want to read Physics of the Impossible, but it will have to wait. It's a bit long and I want to relish in every chapter.

I love you list! If you're a nerd then I must be too. My family always tells me I am. haha

Unfortunately I can't join you in your reading adventure quest. I'm just far too busy. I still am adjusting to actually working outside the home with exercise and my writing.
I hope you understand.

Poem from Writing.Com

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Entered this poem in a daily contest called Writer's Cramp. Tied for the win with someone else.
Prompt: dinosaur

Dino Dreams

Little Timmy Tot is turning five today
and all he wants is a dinosaur.
Big or small, it doesn't matter;
even a silly brontosaur will do.

The party starts but he must wait
as the guests all dine on cake.
Only later can Timmy open
presents and any treat he can take.

Wrapping flies around to litter
with paper and a homemade sweater.
Each package opened with a hope
ignoring any card or odd little letter.

But each package took its toll
for not a single dinosaur could he find.
The last box opened to show with pity
another fire truck but a different kind.

Timmy puts the toys down and look over
his plenty gifts, but sadness he hides.
No t-rex or flying monster did he get
and the others run to play on some slides.

Then his mother comes up with a surprise
and brings out another big present to unwrap.
Inside Timmy finds with joy a set of five dinosaurs
with just enough time to play before his nap.

Break/Less time on Spark

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

For the few people who might have noticed. I'm not posting every single day, like I have been for the past several months. In fact, I'm not signing on spark every day. Most of those days I did things to get sparkpoints but part of the time I wasn't doing anything serious when it comes to being healthier or losing weight. I haven't exercised in weeks and I am not doing very well with the healthy eating aspect. Things are going to change.

But this loose level of "lifestyle change" isn't working for me. I've also decided, I like using the word diet, in reference to the lifestyle involving dietary elements(nutrition). I'm going to be stricter as to my diet because that's the only way I can make any progress. It's still within the lifestyle change but not allowing myself to have something unhealthy whenever I feel like it.

I'll be signing on spark occasionally, and posting in groups. But not every day. Have to get things worked out on my own.

I completely understand, it's finding that balance within yourself. We have all been there. Good Luck!

I understand. Spark can turn out to be useless activity unless your activity is focused.

3 days

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

In a tiny bit less than 3 days I'll be with my BF. Technically the first night we will be just outside of DC but the next day we'll be in Baltimore. It's easier to fly to DC and he travels some in the area for work. Can't believe it is happening this soon. Getting nervous. I started packing. Am going very light with only carry ons since it is a simple weekend trip.

Sucks that my period started today. Unless it ends up being super short, I'm going to have to deal with it over my weekend trip. That's the only down side to this weekend, well that and wearing skirts with it.

Getting writing done but it's not the writing I planned. I have been doing this flash fiction contest which has three sets of 5 days, a flash fiction story each day. I've done 10 stories so far and have only 5 more to go and I'll get a little merit badge. Also, I'm the only one that entered the first section of 5. Only one other person entered 3 of the 5 for the second set. I stand a good change of getting an award at the end of the contest. That's the only reason I'm allowing myself to be distracted by this erotica writing instead of doing my non-erotica novels.

My writing blog has 26 followers so far. If I get 50 I am going to do a giveaway. Not sure what yet but have 24 followers to go before it happens.
