Bad eating day due to my daughter's birthday celebration. But I did notice my appetite is decreased from what was "normal" before. So things are changing. I left food on the plate still even - just all higher calorie options. Restaurants are making changes, which is good. After dinner, my younger daughter and I took an evening stroll at a good pace. Nice time together too. Meal ideas are that I need to get back to cooking. I want to look through my Cooking with the Moms cookbooks (from their podcast -great one by the way) and pick some recipes. This next week will be a challenging one. I need a plan.

School's out! No Y tonight since DD had softball practice in the middle of the evening. I started working ft hours today - might not have to all the time but office was quiet and I was accomplishing a lot so I stayed and powered through two big projects. I did a short but intense workout - sort of a circuit training dvd in 10 mins from the now-defunct exercise tv. I just want to keep in the groove. I did a sparkpeople-based strength machines workout at the Y last night - along with cardio - and did it at light weights to get used to it. I feel it a little, so know I should push harder with the weights. But I didn't want to over exert and then feel punished and not want to go do it again. Better to learn and do slowly. Ate a little over range, but fairly healthy overall. Every day I improve and that's what is important!

I've already gotten in 250 minutes of fitness in June! Wahoo! Today was a rest day so no YMCA - softball game to watch of my daughter (they won). While the kids were warming up, my husband and I took a nice brisk walk around the neighborhood the game was at. Really relaxing and felt great to keep moving. All the exercise has me inspired to eat more healthy too. I haven't been tracking as much as I would like. I know I am eating too many calories still. But choosing healthier foods. I avoided office doughnuts and chips today. Felt really proud of that. I did eat a more caloric dinner (we ate out) and 2 servings of shelled peanuts at the game. I need to plan something for the early games so we can stay on track. Use my crockpots maybe suggested DH. I plan to hit the strength machines at the Y tomorrow night. Girls are almost out of school. That will be good. I am tired of the hectic schedule and ready for a break.

    Awesome and congrats! Starting is always the hardest. And you've already accomplished that. I have a nice surprise for you. Just read recent couple blogs that you joined YMCA (WooHoo!!) and you started walking. Well, I just started a walking program this month with our team. It's on the team forum main page under Team Goals under '5,000 steps per day' and join. Don't worry if you're starting out and there's no competition. And it doesn't have to be 5,000 steps so do the best you can daily and just watch it increase as you walk further every day. All you need is a pedometer. And I've made lots of changes and improvements to our team so come and visit us.

Went to the Y today with the girls and hubby. Spent two hours there and got a great workout. Tomorrow we meet with a personal trainer to set goals and get a program to work on. I'm looking forward to that. I've been using sparkcoach and liking it the past few weeks. Kids and husband are cleaning the kitchen so I can cook more easily. I let them know I cannot do it all now that I am working so much and need help. They want to eat healthy so are pitching in and some extra cash incentive helps. So far, we are very motivated and doing well staying on track with our new membership. Everyone is excited.

We joined the YMCA! I've wanted to do this for years. My daughters were really excited about it and even my husband is on board. Not sure how much my son will use it but he can go on our membership. I went last night and walked the track for 30 mins. It's a start. Tonight I couldn't go but I did a 10 min ab workout at home. Tomorrow I work 13 hours so no workout probably. Unless I have an incredible amount of energy at 9pm. I need to work on my food - both what I eat, preparing and planning ahead and tracking it. But one thing at a time, I guess.
