Sorry for letting the team down

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

When I signed up to do this challenge I knew I would be having surgery. I figured I would still be able to participate. After the first week of the challenge I decided to go spinning out of control and ate everything in site. I decided to give up on my team. I have now had my surgery and I'm back on track with the food. I'm back to being at the same weight as when we started the challenge. I don't want to give up on myself and my team. The doctor has given me the ok to start to exercise again. I need to work on getting my blood pressure back in check. I know if I loose 10 lbs and start to exercise my blood pressure will go back down. Much better than taking another pill. Thanksgiving will be tough. There is always so much food. I am going to figure out what I want to eat and the calories.
I hope I will have the will power to stick to it. I don't want to go out of control again. I should be good on the sweets. Last week I ate 3/4 of an apple pie, chocolates, cookie everything I shouldn't be eating. I am excited to be part of this team and I look forward to getting to know everyone. I can do this and I will. I want to wish everyone a wonder Thanksgiving! Lets not forget what we are thankful for. I am thankful for Sparkpeople and all the wonderful people here. Thanks for all your support.

Need a swift kick to get going again!

Friday, August 03, 2012

I find myself doing real well then all of a sudden i'm spinning out of control. In the last 6 months I have managed to gain 20 pounds back of the weight I had lost. My blood pressure has went to 153 over 100. Not good. My goal is to get my blood pressure back down to where it's suppose to be. On the bright side. I am still down 10 lbs. I know this program work. I'm back to tracking everything I eat. I walk every morning for an hour. I'm looking forward to getting back into the grove of things. I'm going hiking this weekend in the mountains. This will be great fun. I will try to post some fun photos. Have a GREAT weekend!!!!!

    I HAVE TO ASK - IS THIS YOUR GARDEN IN THE BACKGROUND ON YOUR PAGE?
YOU JUST NEED TO GET YOUR MIND BACK INTO THE RIGHT PLACE. I TEND TO BACKSLIDE RIGHT AFTER I'VE HAD A GOOD DR'S APPOINTMENT. I THINK I GET LAZY AND SABOTAGE MYSELF. COULD YOU BE DOING THAT TOO?

I'm Back

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

I was doing well on my weight loss journey when life threw me a curve ball. Last October I ended up ending a 5 year relationship. I went from not being able to eat to eating everything in sight. All I seem to think about is sweets. I have not been eating fruits or vegetables. I have replaced water for soda. I have quit exercising too. I am doing everything I should not be doing. It's time to get back on track. This is not going to be easy. I have called my neighbor to start walking in the mornings again. It always helps to know someone is waiting for me. I am going to quit eating sweets and replace with fruits. I think this is going to be the hardest thing for me to do. I am going to quit drinking pop and start drinking water again. I love the spring weather and I enjoy working out in my yard. With a combination of all these things I should be off to a good start. I will report back in one week and let everyone know how I am doing.

    Think of Spring as being your time. Your time to reach whatever goals you have in mind.

July Goals

Tuesday, July 05, 2011

I fell off the wagon in June. I was going to take some time off from from tracking and measuring what I ate for a couple of weeks. When I was entering my weight for the end of the 5% spring challenge I noticed I had plenty of time off. I don't need 2 more weeks off before the next challenge. I need to get busy now before I gain more weight back. Last week was a free for all. I ate what ever I wanted. This includes Sunday and Monday. As of today I have gained 4 more lbs. I have decided to make some July goals.

July Goals

* Track everything I eat

* NO SODA POP

* Have 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day

* Drink 12 cups of water a day

* Exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week

* Stay busy at night stain the fence, clean the carpets, wash all curtains, clean baseboards, Keep yard weed free.

I'm hoping these goals will help keep me on track for July. Thanks to all my spark friends for keeping me motivated.

    Great goals, and we are here to support you!
Some of them are also on my list, like tracking food is my No. 1. priority all time. Even if I eat over the budget, I track all.
For the exercise, I set 10 min every day, and I keep it. Since I started in April, I always do this 10 min.
Which team are you in for the summer challenge?

    These are great goals. This is a great idea to keep going in between challenges. I need to do the same. I have a week of vacation coming up, spent at my daughters house, so little control of what I have at meals. I'll do my best. Good luck to you.

Back from vacation

Monday, June 13, 2011

Well I'm back from vacation. We had a GREAT time. I didn't want to come home. My favorite part of our vacation was the seals at the beach. La Jolla , San Diego. I decided to eat what I want on this trip. This turned out to not be the greatest idea. I ate to many sweets. Day after day. Once I started I couldn't stop. Or should I say I didn't want to stop. Then I decided to drink soda. I haven't drank soda in over 2 months. It was a hard habit to break. Now my vacation is over. It's time to get back on track. I probably wont be able to make my 5% goal but that's ok. I still have lost weight. I feel better now than before. I have better eating habits. My blood pressure has went down. And there will always be another challenge to try. I am going to do my best to get as close to my goal as I can. The way I look at it is we are all WINNERS even if we don't make our goal. At least we tried our hardest.

    Glad you had a good time. My sister lives in San Diego and I plan to go there for Christmas. I've been out there a couple of times, but it's been a while. I know what you mean about eating the sweets and not wanting to stop. I just went through a major slump of doing pretty much the same thing. Hoefully we're both back on track.
