New Goals for the Month

Thursday, April 01, 2010

Whew! I'm looking to start some good new habits this month.

1. Walk to and from work every day (weather permitting).
2. Get to bed by 1230 am.
3. Stretch daily in the evening.
4. Track all calories eaten, and stay within my 1200-1550 range.
5. Track stress and energy levels each day.

And a financial health goal.

6. Keep track of all my purchases on Mint.

I'm hoping to gain better health and peace of mind from having these healthier habits. In May, once I get these habits in gear, I hope to start eating cleaner and working in some exercise. I want to be cleaner, more vivid, have more energy. In terms of my body, I hope that I can get rid of some of my inner thigh jiggle and tighten up my belly. Of course, since I'm not doing any strength per se, I don't know if that will happen. I may work in strength 1-2 wk in June. We'll see.

Skinny Jeans for Curvy girls

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

Couple commenters asked a out the jeans I got. They're Stella skinny leg in deep indigo by Express! Link here: www.express.com/catalog/product.jsp?
productId=19645&parentCategoryId=2&cat
egoryId=24&subCategoryId=24
I have a curvy figure (small waist, larger bum) and these fit me well! It seems especially tough to find well-fitting skinny jeans for my proportions, so I'm happy!

New Clothes!

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

They're motivating me to lose weight, and yes, they fit!

I got several new items over last weekend, including a pair of skinny jeans and boots, which I wore today. I felt so confident and fierce in them, I didn't even want to deviate from what I planned to eat today.

The Clean Plate Club

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I've been raised to be a member of the clean plate club. Nobody in my family left food on their plate, plain and simple. If the food is good, you eat all of it. If the food is okay, you eat all of it. If you're not finishing something, there's something wrong with it.

My parents kind of reformed their eating habits over the years, but the CPC still holds at my house -- we just get smaller servings now! I do that at home as well. When I make myself dinner, I eat all of it, but I don't make big portions to begin with.

I went out to eat with my boyfriend twice last weekend. Cleaned the plate both times. But I was so full afterward for one of the times! Unpleasantly so! I willfully kept on eating after I knew I was full. To enjoy my food while out, I guess I have to learn to be aware of when I'm full, and stop then, to avoid after-dinner discomfort wrecking a great meal.

    Try this, it's what I do. Ask for a to-go container before your meal arrives at the table. Once the food comes IMMEDIATELY put 1/2 of it into your to-go container. Then you have lunch the next day all planned out.

I've actually brought my own container the last few times - trying to go green and all.

Taking time to take care of myself + question for NYC-ers

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Law school applications are almost done, but I'm stressing a lot still. I've been making sure to eat well all the while. I've still been dropping weight, somehow. I do think I've gotten a lot better at mindful eating, because I certainly haven't been exercising or tracking. I'm looking forward to being able to exercise for stress relief and general wellbeing though.

I'm looking for a doctor and a yoga class in NYC. Any thoughts?: http://tinyurl.com/yzbs899 This query is basically a testimony to how much I trust sparkpeople -- I know someone out there will be willing and able to help. PM me! Thanks!
