Tablets

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Last week was not very good but at least I did not gain any weight. I have been to see my GP today and she has lowered my sleeping medication as that may not have helped in my quest to lose weight.

I was at the gym and aqua jog yesterday and as I had to use the bus to get to the Doctors I decided to go swimming today, swimming is my favourite exercise.

it is just over a month to go before my holiday so hope I can get on track and lose the last 4 pounds.
Hope you like this photo of me with Archie who I was looking after for days.

Not good

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

I have been on my new diet over a week now and today I weighed myself only to find out that I am still 12 stones 4 pounds, I was so disappointed but I am not giving up at least not yet. I have worked so hard and have even been going swimming twice a week.
I know that I have lost nearly a stone since Christmas but it has been so slow and very hard work, I am not over eating and have kept to my alotted calories. I am on tablets for depression and wonder if they are part of the problem.

The depression tablets and whole bodily mood could be contributing to how slow it is. That's great that you have lost and are holding your own rather than gaining. I gained back .4 of a pound this week but my weather here and other stressors have me being kind to myself instead of disappointed.

Stick with it!! in my own experience with meds weight gain was a real problem. Years ago I had a horrible doctor who could care less of the side effects of the meds he put me on...long story short the meds really packed on the pounds...almost 100. Now I'm on meds that do not cause weight gain and am feeling much better over all as well.

Thank you all for the support, I have been feeling a bit low recently which is not helping. I will get there I'm just going to take longer. emoticon emoticon. It is very miserable here so I am not doing as much walking as I would like.

Sometimes the scale doesnt tell the whole story. Look for other ways its helping like maybe more energy or just feeling better about what your doing for yourself. I do know some antidepressant med will make it much harder to lose weight, you might want to ask your dr. But either way Keep up your hard work, even if it takes awhile it will make a big difference. Keep positive. emoticon

Hang in there! You admit that you've have lost at least a stone since Christmas, so there's your progress. Do you feel better in any way? Is it easier to move about, make healthy meal choices, or do your swimming workout? In addition to the loss of a stone, congratulate yourself on at least one of these smaller goals. Write them down if you have to. I know it helps me to do so. For a while, all I could put down was that I didn't huff and puff when I got to the top of a flight of stairs. No real weight loss, despite calories and excercise. But, when I thought of it, that IS an accomplishment. My body became healthier and could work more efficiently due to my excercise, regardless of what the scale said. I also knew that my eating choices were healthier than before, so I was actually getting the nutrients to get stronger day by day.
So WOO-HOO to you, despite the numbers!

Counting calories

Sunday, June 24, 2012

I have decided to change tactics and count calories instead of Weight Watchers points. I have been so slow at losing weight that I thought it was worth a try. I have worked it out that I should lose about 1 to 1 1/2 pound a week and by the end of July I should lose 6 pounds.
I am not bothered about how fast I lose weight but do want to try and lose a regular amount each week. Today was my first day so shall see how it goes.

I use the food tracker every day to keep track of calories. I do it the lazy way. I don't put down what I ate.Only amount of calories. Counting calories does make a difference

    Hi
Just to let you know, I found a web site called my fitness pal which lists British foods which I find easier to use and at the moment I am feeling really positive.
Thank you all.

You will find the food intake tracker and the exercise tracker to be wonderful tools. I don't exercise enough, i'm working on it, but not there yet. But even the slightest improvement is noted through the exercise tracker, and that motivates me to keep going. With the food tracker, i have noticed that my downfall with food intake is carbs. Now that I know this, I can address that particular problem and hopefully see improveent soon. Best of luck to you in reaching your goals.

You can do it! When you start losing it will stimulate some excitement about it and you will be encouraged to continue toward your goal.

Disappointed

Monday, June 18, 2012

I have been for my usual gym and aqua jog today and I also weighed myself but was very disappointed to find that for the 3rd week running I have stayed the same. I am still doing the Weight Watchers points and I believe that I am doing well with them, I am doing at least 120 mins exercise plus I walk everyday.

50 mins in the gym
30 mins aqua jog

I try to go for 2 walks per week of between 1-2 hours.

Dont give up. You probably are building muscle. Sometimes the numbers on the scale dont change but you should see and feel the weight loss in your clothes. They should be looser and fitting differently. emoticon

Don't give up, you are really doing so well. Many people, including me, don't do half the exercise you are doing. Maybe you are still building up your muscle tone which could be the reason you are not losing at the moment.
