Busy Busy

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Last week when I walked down to the post box with Michael I suggested that we went into the charity shop to look at a bookcase that I thought was good value and better than the one we already had, well we brought it plus a unit that also looked good. They were delivered yesterday so we have spent most of yesterday and today sorting things out which included giving away quite a few books ( did not want too but we only live in a small bungalow) and a few ornaments. I love it when get a bargain and it is even better when you are helping charity.
Moving the furniture around has meant I missed my exercise class today but feel as if I have done enough exercise to last for the next two weeks. I may go swimming tomorrow as I have 20 free swims and I have only used one.
I have been try to learn crochet and with help I seem to be doing alright, I am doing a baby blanket which I shall try and sell to help the craft group funds.
I am having a treat next week as I am having my feet done, I have a fungus in 5 of my toes which is proving difficult to get rid of (I have had my big toe nails of twice) plus I do not find it easy to cut them.

I have been using those feet spa things with the fish in a tank that nibble at your feet it feels funny at firdt but your feet feel great afterwards emoticon carol

My, you have been busy. We have also just given nearly all our books away to sell at the Church, partly because of moving to a bungalow but mainly because Pete has just bought himself a 'Kindle' which means that he can 'download' any book he wants. Hey presto! No need for bookshelves.
Hope you manage to get your feet sorted out.

Life is back to normal

Friday, August 05, 2011

Life is a little more normal once again only trouble is it leaves me feeling drained and very tired.
I really have missed coming on the site as the support is just so good.
I am doing a few things craftwise, I am trying to learn to crochet and I think it is working, I can do granny squares but other types I found difficult but I am getting help from my Tuesday night knit and stitch group.
I have restarted my diet, I did not really go off the diet but just stopped counting points,
I am still going to the exercise class so hopefully I will get to my ideal weight one day.

I am sorry not to have been on emoticon much recently but things have been very difficult with Michael, he was Ok on holiday but his brothers death has affected him more than we first thought, he is making no effort at all and has not been out of bed for a month. I really love this site and it gives me loads of support but I cannot get on the computer very often. What I really need is a computer of my own but I cannot afford one but I am on the lookout for a 2nd hand one.

I am sorry to hear that Michael is having a hard timecoping with the death of his brother. Death is a hard thing to handle at anytime. Put your faith in god and he will carry you and your family through it all. My prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear about Michael's problems, that explains why we didn't get to meet up with you today as you were hoping to do. I hope things get better for you both soon.

Hope things start looking up for you soon...

This should be a lovely time of year for you to be outside (not here in Texas where it is as hot as blue blazes, but where you are) , can you lure Michael out of bed on the pretext of washing the sheets and get him outdoors? Nature has such healing properties, I think.

Good Holiday

Sunday, June 26, 2011

We had a great week in Wales and the weather was very kind to us, there was 2 trips planned but as they were only small places the driver suggested that we only had short visits and then he would take us on a tour. The tour company, driver, the hotel and Barmouth were all great and we would use them all again.
I don't think I did to bad on holiday eating wise but will not be weighed until Thursday when I go to my exercise class.
We had bad news a few days before the holiday, Michael's brother died back in March but no one knew how to contact Michael or even that he had a brother so the funeral went ahead without us knowing, Michael seem to take it well but now we have found out that he left £7000 or there abouts, it is not going to easy to sort out has he did not leave a will. This problem is not helping Michael and has sent his mood very low.

Sorry to hear that Michael is having problems coping with his brothers death, maybe if he could find someway of saying goodbye to him it might help.
Glad your holiday was a success though.

What a mistake to make

Sunday, June 19, 2011

We have just got back from a lovely day out(it was an annual bus running day at Peak Rail near Matlock), we decided to have an meal out of soup or jacket potatoes only to find both of our favourite cafes closed so we went in a fish and chip shop(not good) the lady got our order mixed up and ended up with far to many chips(I did enjoy the meal) but felt really full afterwards. I am not going to watch my weight while I am away but I am going to take care not to overeat and will be happy if I stay the same weight until the next weight in.
My bags are packed and I am all ready for my holiday, I am looking forward to the change and seeing somewhere different.
