Snow snow snow

Saturday, December 04, 2010

Well weather wise it has been an awful week and I have hardly been out, I am told it is to be with us until the new year.
It is starting to depress me as I look forward to my daily routine as it is the only time I talk to people ( Michael is low once again and I am using the library computers), I am also worried that I may not get to the hospital next Friday for my physio appointment.
I am eating quite sensibly and I have not been drinking diet coke but of course not getting any exercise is not doing me much good.

    Dear Elaine;

Your friends are here for you, believe that, the snow may fall & keep falling we are still here for you. Keep strong, You can get through this, rest & relax in some of your happy memories from play's you've seen, times you've shared with friends.

I'm here for you, whenever you can get to the computer. Tho there may be miles & oceans between us, I am still here as your friend & penpal. I believe in You, You can get through the hard times in life, you can do some easy exercises inside the house, use a chair to do leg lifts, walk in place, lift soup cans. Keep your endorphins moving inside your body to keep your mental abilities strong.

Take care my dear friend, I'm here for you always.

Many Blessings Always Debby emoticon emoticon emoticon

Eating sensibly and giving up the soda is great! You may not be exercising, but those two things will contribute to you being healthier!

Back problems

Thursday, November 11, 2010

I think I may have just about got my eating under control but I am having problems with sciatica at the moment. It has got quite a lot worse over the last week or so, I am still getting out but it is taking me ages to get anywhere and I've still got a month before I see the physio.
Michael is still on the new tablets which seem to be helping a little as I he is managing to stay up a bit longer, he has gone down now but he was getting up only to go to sleep on the sofa.
The good news is I am a grandma ( friends baby) bad news she lives in Durham but I will pray that we meet one day
I don't think much of the weather at the moment as it has hardly stopped around her for the last 3 days (yesterday was slightly better), it is so depressing.

I hope you are feeling better. I had back problems last year at this time and could hardly move. I scared my husband one day when I first had the problem and screamed from the back bedroom. [I am not in the habit of screaming.] Physical therapy helped me; I hope there is something that can help you.

I enjoyed your blog. I also understand your pain. I have back & sciatica problems myself. But focusing on the many good things that happen makes for a better day, right? Sounds like you have some wonderful things going on. Hope your weather gets better. It is going to be sunny here in CA. emoticon

Having a good day

Saturday, October 30, 2010

It seems ages since I was last on here but my life has been running a long as usual with nothing much happening. Also we have been off line for a while as we have change our broadband and phone company.
I have been to the theatre today to see The Nutcracker by The Northern Ballet company, it was brilliant and I really enjoyed it. I had a couple of hours in town before hand so had a wonder around town and had lunch in a church cafe.
I also had my flu jab this morning, I'm glad to get that out of the way but I never have any problems.
The new tablets Michael is on seem to be helping, he was only down just over a week and he managed to stay up nearly two weeks.
I felt quite depressed in town not sure why as I knew I would enjoy the ballet, Nottingham always makes me feel tired but it was not just that.
I have booked an appointment with the physio but it is not until 10th December emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great to hear You having good days & Michael is having better days too. Sometimes taking things one day at a time helps us manage our depression better. I know it works for me as I'm not able to afford med's, so I just take breaks in time, all the while gaining confidence in myself that I can handle whatever chunk of time I've given to myself.

Still praying for you, glad you enjoyed the ballet, it's good your going out and enjoying things a little at a time.

Many Blessings Always Debby emoticon emoticon

It sounds like you had a pretty good day. I haven't been to the ballet, but my family and I have went to the theatre several times in the past few years. We are going to see Mamma Mia in New York City in December.

I love myself the way I am

Saturday, October 16, 2010

I love myself the way I am there's nothing I need to change
I'llalways be the perfect me there's nothing to rearrange
I'm beautiful and capeable of being the best me I can
and I love myself just the way I am.

I love you just the way you are there's nothing you need to do
when I feel the love inside myself it's easy to love you
behind your fears, your rage and tears
I see your shining star
and I love you just the way you are.

I love the world the way it is, cause I can clearly see
that all the things I judge are done
by people just like me
so till the birth of peace on earth
that only love can bring
I'll help it grow by loving everything.

I love myself the way I am and still I want to grow.
But change outside can only come
when deep inside I know
I'm beautiful and capeable of being the best me I can
and I love myself just the way I am
I love myself just the way I am.

I am so pleased you all liked this poem, I first saw it in the 90's when I use to volunteer at a school in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire and I have loved it ever since and if only more people thought like the world would be a better place but at least we can keep trying.
All the best Elaine

    Hi Elaine;

What a beautiful poem, so sweet & touching, words we should all say in the mirror to our inner child inside ourselves. I will write this down & put it on my mirror and think of you each day hoping you are loving yourself just the way your are, sweet, special & very loveable.

Thank you for sharing. Take care & be well.

My weight is not good

Thursday, October 14, 2010

I have not been here for a while as Michael decided to change phone and broadband providers
but as soon as he did he went down for a month and things went wrong and we are still not back on-line.
Michael tablets have been changed and he has now been up for just over two weeks(this is something of a record) he is on his way down at the moment but is trying to stay up so we shall see
As for me I went for my asthma check-up yesterday and all is well and my puff test was the best for 3 years, I saw the doctor a couple of weeks ago as I have been feeling very low recently and my night tablets were increased but had to go back to what they use to be as the made me feel very restless and itchy. The bad thing is that I have put on 14 pounds since June and this has made me feel quite depressed. I have been put forward for prescription exercise which I am still waiting to hear about. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You know when we think all is hopeless, something good will always come out of it. You went to the doctor, got a good puff test. That is good. I know because I suffer from Asthma always. Take pride in that.

Don't be so hard on yourself, you manage to do so much considering the obsticles you have to work around all the time. Congrats on the 'puff' test......see something is good.
Just take care & listen to what the Doctors say.

You've had a lot to deal with these past few months, and not being able to track your nutrition won't have made it any easier, so don't let your weight gain get you down. Your back and can start afresh.

I hope you hear about the prescription exercise soon. It's a great way to get into the exercise habit.
