You GUYS!! 99 comments (so far) on my "Positive Thoughts" blog post? I am loving it! I've been blogging for a lonnnnnnnnng time (aside from SP) and NEVER gotten 99 comments on anything. Ha! It's so nice that so many people appreciate an "attitude of gratitude." I've gained some very nice new SP Friends from this one post! Such fun.
I'm feeling happy today, also, even though it's the dreaded MONDAY. But I should confess to you I just got back from having Mexican food for lunch. Spinach quesadilla. And chips and salsa. Definitely my weakness as I am sure I've said here before. A few dozen times.
OH WELL. In two days I'll have a weigh in and we'll see what happens. Perhaps I will make a very sincere effort between now and then, yes? Chugalug my 64 oz of water!
On to the Happier stuff -- did you know there's an app for iPhone called "Happier?" It was created by my online friend, Nataly, and her team, and it's a "count your blessings" app. Very simple, very clean, excellent design, and I LOVE IT. I know all of you positive people will, too. Look for it if you have an iPhone or iPad (I don't know if they made an Android version yet).

I'm writing today for work -- writing an article, writing blurbs for a brochure, writing another article later... and I hit a block. Thought I'd pop over here and free-form write instead, to see what I jar loose!
Thanks for liking and commenting on yesterday's post! Wow! I was flattered mine was one they chose to feature, and then more proud that it got voted "popular!" That was fun. And funny, because I felt like I'd phoned it in. Just goes to show, ya never know.
(I'm also a poet. groan.)
(You can see why I took a break from the professional writing for a moment.)
Let's see, yesterday my eating was on track, until dinner. And, I didn't really go that much overboard, but I HAD to have 2 crescent rolls. One was just such a TEASE. I'm making them for my son, the underweight one. I know I should make those for him and whole grain Alexia rolls for me, but... well, you know what a pain it is to make more than 1 meal. That's my main struggle lately. I did eat a big salad in place of his (and everyone else's) helpings of corn, so that was a win. (My dad the cattle farmer always reminds me corn is used at the feedlots to fatten 'em up! Sorry if that offended any vegetarians or "compassionate carnivores". But it's a fact.)
ANNNNNYWAY, I seem to be rambling, so I will close with a thought:
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
Haha! I know a few of both types!
Happy day, people. Thanks for being supportive!

I was just getting ready to type up a bunch of whining about my job, here. But No. Delete, delete, delete. Why weigh myself down with negativity? I could say I was "getting it out of my system," but I could also say it's planting it IN my system, just by acknowledging it. So, No.
Here are five positive things instead:
1. I am learning to make better meal choices and to have reasonable portions.
2. Today I can be productive (because the usual interruptors are away from the office)
3. I will also have the leeway to take a bit longer lunch and get in a workout
4. I have hired a contractor -- a task that I had dreaded, from making the first phone inquiry (I hate having phone tasks). It's done, he's coming next week to do the work.
5. My husband and kids love me and that's all I really need to know!
(and one more... I weighed in a little bit down today at 144.2! Progress!)
Hope you have some positive thoughts to get you through today, too!

After last week's disappointing weigh-in (gain, gaaahhhrrr), this week it looks like I'm back on track. -Ish. I was 144.4, then up last week, and this week 144.6. Whew. I mean, I wish it was a loss, but it's back on track.
But if I'm going to get to goal I'm going to have to up the ante, that's clear.
I'm really proud of turning myself around and making fitness a part of nearly every day, with the 10-min-a-day Challenge - it really helped me. And ten minutes DOES make a difference in how I feel, even if I don't see the pounds decrease on the scale.
But I've got to really push to keep the calories in the low range, and add some longer workouts, if I want to see a difference. So here is a kick in my own butt. KICK.
