First time blogger

I wonder how many blogs start out with "Well, this is my first time attempting a blog..." - and I have to admit, it's difficult not to say that! Anyway. I'm rounding out my first month on SparkPeople, and loving every minute of it.

I have about 30 pounds to lose, but that's just an estimate based on how I feel about my body. When I was feeling my best, I never used to weigh myself. I judged things based on how good I felt, and how well my pants fit. I was also a pack-a-day smoker. I've since quit smoking, gone up 2 pants sizes, and bought a scale. I feel like my metabolism slowed down to a crawl when I hit 30 - if I wanted to fit into a certain outfit or feel a certain way, I would skip a meal and be happy with the results. If I ate a #3 from McDonald's yesterday, I would skip lunch today and be back to "normal." Now, I work out for a week and lose A SINGLE POUND! But on a positive note, my size 14s are fitting a little looser...

    Great first blog! I have yet to blog and have been active on SP for about a month and a half. I, too, have been judging how I am doing by the way I feel and how my clothes fit..or now don't fit!! My scale has not wanted to move for well over 3 weeks even though I have been consistently exercising everyday for at least 30 minutes. It's very frustrating but I am not giving up! Keep up the great work- you can do it!!
