Be a blessing to yourself and in the process, be a blessing to others! Want to lose 5% of your weight in 8 weeks? Beginning July 16, another great 5% Challenge will begin with three exciting elements, all designed to help you remain focused on reaching your goal to lose 5% or to simply maintain, if that’s your goal. Caution: This is not a challenge for the weak at heart (sorry, no pun intended) . . . because there is a weekly weigh-in, along with daily logging of your fitness minutes and progress on living the weekly healthy habits focus. There are even challenges within challenges that you may choose to participate in.
This is my fourth 5% challenge! In the first challenge, it took me ten weeks to lose 5% of my weight. The second challenge gave me an opportunity to truly shine with 5% down the first 8 weeks and I reached the high end of a healthy BMI, with 6% weight loss, by the end of 10 weeks. I still have two weeks to weigh-in on the third challenge. I am now within six pounds of my 100 lb weight-loss goal and I have four weeks to weigh in before beginning this challenge. This is a major testament to SparkPeople and Teddy Bear challenges, since I had the mindset that I would be a Weight Watcher member on the ten-year plan. At this rate, I may actually succeed in closer to five years.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all my great friends and the wealth of great resources placed before me throughout this marvelous journey. We are so fortunate to live in an era of research and information, access to a wide array of foods, and quality drinking water. Sometimes I need to give myself a good kick in the butt, but most of all, I need to give it a lot of tender loving care so that it becomes a quality vessel for my faith and worship.
Whatever your reasons or story, make on-going improvements to your health and your body will continue to say “thank you” many times over! Joining a challenge may be just what the doctor ordered!

My Teddy Bear Team makes me proud as we work our way to some great fitness minutes and arrive at our destination: The Grand Canyon!
We did the majority of the travel within the first two days. Twenty-five team members, in nearly 50 posts, were responsible for helping the Teddy Bears reach the Grand Canyon.
