Getting back on track

Monday, November 26, 2012

This month has been ridiculous! Three surprise milestone birthday parties and Thanksgiving. I need to re-focus and get back on track with meal planning and exercise. I will be trying very hard to stay on track from now until Christmas. Except for a few holiday parties things should be more on the quiet side and make it easier for me to follow my plan. Even though I had all of those events this month I am still proud of the work I did do with exercise and diet. I keep reminding myself that this is a lifestyle change and you can't bee 100% regimented all of the time. The difference with this plan for me verses other diets it's is that it is lifestyle oriented and is a program of positive reinforcement and as long as I follow those thoughts I can stay motivated.

why I want to loose weight

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

When I first started this journey my main catalyst was an upcoming trip to Vegas for my daughters 21st birthday in March. I also want to be healthy and fit in my life. Now thinking more specifically it is also about the things I used to be able to do and the life style I lived when I was thinner, fit, and healthy. It's about getting my confidence and feeling of self worth back. It's about not being ashamed to see people that I haven't seen in 10 years because of the way I look. Mostly it's about how much I want to have the energy to do things again. I hate huffing and puffing up the steps, or feeling tired all of the time. The worst is not doing the things I used to love to do because I can't physically manage it. I am into my 7th week of this and even though the scale hasn't moved much the last few weeks ( something that would've had me quitting before ) I see positive changes in myself, and through the help her at Sparkpeople am learning to use these changes as motivation to keep going. I deserve to get the life I want if I am willing to work for it and so I'll keep on going to achieve all that I know I can be.

Embracing positive change

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Sooo... this week after 2 great weeks the scale only goes down 1 lb and I'm glad it's a loss but I wanted more. We always want more don't we. I mean when I look in the mirror I see differences, when I put on my clothes they fit looser, and I find myself looking forward to exercise ( who would've thunk it ). So why doesn't the scale show it and why does it frustrate me so much. I have to relearn how to see positive changes in myself and my lifestyle like I have to relearn proper diet and exercise. I guess I am just starting to realize all the changes and learning I have to do and I mean that in a good way. After all this is a learning process, life is a learning process, and in order to keep growing as a person I need to keep learning and most of all stay positive. Sooo, this week I will be happy for the changes I see in the mirror, the changes I feel in my clothes, and embrace the huge milestone that it is that I might actually like to exercise and forget about the scale. emoticon

Eating the right way and starting Exercise program

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

It seems like something so small but today was the first time in years that I actually sat down to eat breakfast. It was just a bowl of cereal but other than the occaisional protien shake on the way to work I didn't eat breakfast and hardly any lunch for that matter. I don't know how it happened but sometime over the last 7 years I stopped eating 3 meals a day and just had dinner and some evening snacks. No wonder my metabolisim is almost non existant. I hope I can contiue to increase the times that I eat(choosing healthy foods) so I can get my metabolisim working better. I also made an appointment to check out the Curves exercise program. Hopefully it will be a good fit for me and get me moving

Got "The Spark" book

Monday, October 15, 2012

I ordered the spark book from amazon and got it yesterday. I have been reading it and finding very helpful. It is giving me a lot of information on goal setting and the overview of the program really is really helping me to see that this is a life style change and not a quick fix. It is also making realize that the small steps are just as important as the big ones. I am hoping that this will help keep me motivated. Oh, if anyone has ideas on how to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my diet, I would really appriciate it. Trying to keep it real one day at a time. emoticon
