O.K., so I know this has nothing to do with weight loss, BUT - on saturday at Santa Anita Park (CA), my new favorite horse, Lava Man, won the $1 million Santa Anita Handicap for the second consecutive year, burnishing his reputation as the most prosperous claiming horse in racing history. The victory, worth $600,000, increased his career earnings to $4,679,706.

In 2003, he began his career in a lowly $12,500 claiming race at Stockton, Calif., where he finished fourth at 35-1 odds. A year later, he was purchased for $50,000 by partners Steve and David Kenly of Phoenix and Jason Wood of Rancho Santa Margarita.

Lava Man reminds me of an old (now retired) favorite of mine,
Albert the Great (nickname was "The Beast of Belmont").

Back to business - still holding at current weight. Resolve remains. Excersised for 20 min this morning, will do stairs at work.

Am stuck at the 10 pound mark. But have made a decision that I will PERSEVERE, NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!! The mental image I am using is the English (Londoners) getting bombed during WWII and managing to continue, no matter what. All of those bombs dropping at night, blowing everything up - and they still kept going.

Am going out to dinner tonite. Yikes! have already x-nayed Olive Garden (too tempting). No matter where we go, I will choose the healthiest menu choice I can, and not over eat! (She says as the bomb sirens go off over her head). Seriously!

Am using back steps at work (1 & 1/2 flight) today. Doing reps of 5 times up and down several times. Have done one, am doing another as soon as done here.

I lost 7 pounds. Well, that's o.k. - I was hoping for a little more, 8-10, but 7 isn't bad. I am happy about it. I need to keep it going, though. I need to keep focused. I need to work out more. More, more, more!

My goal is to lose a MINIMUM of 7 pounds this month.

    Seven pounds in a month is great! You are doing well considering how hectic things seem to have been for you. Just keep plugging along. Consistancy works!

Took off work today, have things to do for service tomorrow, is going to start to snow later this afternoon. It's going to be tough tomorrow!

Diet/fitness plan on track. Cal/Carb/Fat count good since Sunday (even with extra beers last night!!). Did yoga yesterday & moved office stuff around - that really helped burn some cals.

Today did 1/2 hour yoga, 10 min pilates. Cardio goal is falling by wayside, don't care right now, still burning cals at some rate. Feel good.
