Had to change plans today

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

My plan this morning was to get up and go for a walk, then put things back on the patio deck as I have just finished staining and sealing it. But raining hard so went to fitness center and walked about a mile and half then did strength training as I missed doing that yesterday. Rain has finally stopped so maybe can do patio this afternoon, have everything stored in garage while working on patio and want to get car back in it. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Rainy Day

Saturday, July 31, 2010

It is raining in Fort Wayne this morning. We were going to go to a farmers market and then a car show. Looks like that is not going to happen, at least for now. Did meet my first weight goal, so day is not a disappointment at all.
Went to a concert last night and saw an Eagle's tribute band called Hotel California, they were very good and a large crowd came to see them in a outdoor theatre.

Good for you (meeting a goal). I LOVE the rain, so it would not keep me home (although I live in Washington where it is an every day event).

I LOVE the Eagles. I'll look for that tribute band to come out our way.

Did ok today

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Went to retirement luncheon today and then ate out this evening, but made good choices both times, that was pretty good for me to do it twice in one day.

End of week 2 and not good news

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Weighted in today and back to where I started two weeks ago, what a downer. Thought I had been doing good but have been eating out a lot, maybe that is it, just don't know, so disappointing. Got to pick myself up and start all over, hadn't expected this to happen.

YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT PATH! Keep up the good work. Remember that darn scale is not the only indicator! Measure how you feel and how your clothes are fitting!

    Ed,

As you begin to make healthier choices and work out more, you begin building muscle - which weighs more than fat but takes up less space. Don't judge your progress by the scale. Take your measurements as well, and compare those when you weigh in. The scale may not have budged, but if you lost inches, that's just as good, if not better!

Hang in there. Even the snail made it to the ark. Sometimes our progress is slow, sometimes it's fast. Be persistent. Don't give up on yourself. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Be well,
Nancy

Hang in there Ed. If you stay the course you will see your goal made real. The rabbit looks like the clear winner but we know the tortoise knows the real secret to winning. emoticon

I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed. Don't look at it as starting over though, because you never stopped! Start tracking your foods. Eating in restaurants can be really tricky because you don't really know what you are getting. I have decided to stay away from restaurants as much as possible. I will eat at subway because they post their nutritional info on their website. Hang in there, friend, you are making more positive choices than negative and that is something to feel good about!! emoticon

If you track everything in your nutrition tracker (yes, at first it is a pain) then you are accountable for what you are eating and will see where your calories are coming from. Then it is easier to figure out what needs to be adjusted, smaller portions of some foods, eliminating others, etc. Plus, if I go over on one meal or day, I can make small reductions on the next meal(s) to get myself back on track. Keep going, you're doing good things for yourself!

Sorry that it hasn't gone as well as you'd hoped.

Do you look up nutritional information about the restaurants before you go out? I did that last week and was shocked at some of the calorie counts - a pasta dish at one restaurant was 1,600 calories.

You can pick yourself up - good luck

What a day

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

The wife talked me into going for a walk this evening, it had cooled off to 80 degrees, so not to bad, but as we left the house she noticed she had a flat tire and I said that I would change it when we got back. WOW, It's been a looooong time since I've done that, probably took me 45 minutes to get it off and the little one back on, so tomorrow it's off to the garage to get it fix, will let them put it back on.

I seem to think that no one can get those darn tires off after they are tightened by a those he-men at the garage! LOL Good for you for getting your walk in BEFORE changing the tire!
