Starting Over

Okay, so I fell off the band wagon for a couple of months. I came back, heavier than I was before *sigh*.

I'm starting over again. Right from day one, back to the first diet stage. Wish me luck!

    I'm in the same shoes as you my dear! I lost 20 lbs last spring, gained them back and now trying again to get 50 lbs to drop off by 12/31/07! We're about in the same weight range and maybe about the same goals too!

I'm here for the long haul this time - no matter how hard it gets - your welcome to keep in touch and we'll loose together!!

So, I fell off the wagon a little bit. Not alot though, so it is alright. I still managed to go from 195.4 to 193.8 lbs this week. I swear I was lower on Friday, but then I went to my mom's on Saturday and thought 'huge 12 oz steak' was the perfect diet food. Then I went to the movies on Sunday and bought popcorn. Oh well.

Today is day 1 of week 2, we shall see how it goes.

I can't believe it is already 2 weeks on this program. Time is flying by so quickly.

I need to start exercising more often. I'm lax on the exercise.

So, after eating within my range ALL week and exercising more than normal (I actually strength trained! I did a crunch! I did more than one crunch!) I have gained 1.4 lbs.


I have asked some people and they suggest that it is bloating or muscle gain.

Although I'd like to think it was muscle gain, I'm hesitant to believe I have gained that much muscle in only a week of strength training. Technically I should have lost fat AND gained muscle, which means I actually gained more than 1.4 lbs of muscle.

I'm going to go with bloating.

If I'm up again next week then I'll believe muscle gain. But I cannot honestly credit myself with that after only one week.

In short: I'll stick to my diet and keep trying. Not much else I can do is there?

Well yesterday went okay I guess. I ate way too many carbs in an attempt to fix my caloric intake. As I previously said, my nutrition report indicated I ate too many proteins and not enough carbs.

I still maintain that I feel better about myself if I eat protein vs. carbs. I was bloated and uncomfortable after dinner yesterday (vegetable soup with multigrain bread and bruschetta). Next time just soup and perhaps some crackers. But not the heavy bread. I just can't take it!

Today has started well. I had a nice light breakfast of spelt flakes which I will follow up with strawberries in an hour or two when I get peckish. I am going to try spacing out my meals over the course of the day to help stop munching on inappropriate foods.

I'll update on the outcome.

I took out my low-impact cross trainer (a Gazelle) yesterday and used it while watching tv! That was great. Unfortunately my cat decided his litter box wasn't clean enough and used the exercise floor as a dumping ground. I'll have to clean that up and wait for it to dry before I can workout! Well, at least the cleanup will work my arms and upper back. :-)

I've already eaten far too much today. But its later in the morning. I'm going to call it brunch. I'll have some fruit around 2pm and then just have dinner. It will probably work out. Its not what you eat at one time, its what you eat over the course of the day that is important. Having one big meal and two small meals is just fine.

I think its going to be chicken salad for dinner. Not that mayo filled stuff, an actual salad with chicken on top.

Okay, I'm rambling.
