It is only Failure if you give up

Monday, January 28, 2008

Giving up on yourself is failure.

Well I seem to be an expert at times on the old sabataging yourself but I am going to share two things with you I love Richard Simmons, and I founds myself writing to him back in December because I was frustrated with myself sabatoging. Here is his response.

Emmy.
Why oh why are you allowing your weight to get the best of you? I mean, you have already shown yourself that you can lose this weight. Now, you have just GOT to keep on fighting! TOPS is a great group and I really want you to take advantage of the fact that you are a member. Come on, Emmy, you even said yourself that you are sabotaging your efforts. How much do you want to win this fight, Emmy?
One thing I want to make clear to you is that successful weight-loss is all about your making important lifestyle changes. And that's where you are right now. The bottom line is that you have GOT to keep fighting, sweetie!
Stop making your ability to lose this weight seem so impossible. It's anything but! You've begun proving that you can win this fight. You just can't give up now, Emmy!
Losing the rest of this weight is all about how much TIME you're willing to spend and how much WORK you're willing to do. It's also about your making important lifestyle changes. If you WANT this bad enough then you can HAVE IT, Emmy! The truth is that simple. You have allowed food and your weight to make your life so unhappy and unhealthy long enough. What you need now, or I should say, WHO you need now most of all to WIN this fight is YOU!
Turn the frustration you have with your weight into the determination you need to LOSE it. You have GOT to decide how much losing this weight means to you and get ready to lose it, NOW! And that's only as impossible as you make it.
You really do want to lose the rest of this weight, don't you Emmy? I believe you do and that means you have the WILL to do it. Plus, God has already given you the POWER to lose it. He just leaves it in your hands to keep using that power. Put the two together and you have the WILL--POWER you need to the rest of this weight!
Remember, FOOD has no more power over you other than the power you choose to GIVE it. You must CHOOSE to not allow food and your weight to rule your life ANY longer. The big mistake most people make is to turn losing weight into a chore or an impossible task. It's NEITHER! Yes, you DO have to work for it. You have to EARN it. But that's true of just about anything else in life worth having, isn't it? But I also like to think of losing weight as an adventure. Just think, you'll be creating a brand NEW EMMY and if that's not an adventure then tell me what is? Here's how you WIN this fight:
1)Get back in charge and this time...STAY in charge of your eating habits. (No big surprise for you there, right?) And one more time, you must NOT give food power over your life EVER again. It's a fact, Emmy, you control the food and it does not control you, unless you let it! And it's not just about WHAT you eat, it's about how MUCH. You have got to watch those portion sizes. Food does not leap from the plate or the kitchen cabinets into your mouth. It's you who makes those decisions. How much do you want to WIN this fight huh, Emmy?
2)You've GOT to start and STICK WITH a dedicated EXERCISE program and make it a regular part of your life! BUILD from where you are right now by challenging yourself to do a little bit more each day. The more you do, the more you'll be ABLE to do. Exercise will not only make your body stronger but make your MIND stronger, too. And you need that kind of inner-strength right now. You'll also discover that good habits, like exercise, are just as hard to break as some of the bad habits you may have had in your life. Last but not least...
3)You have GOT to make sure your ATTITUDE stays strong and positive. And, like I said, you really need to work on this area of your life, Emmy. Let there be NO room for doubts about what you CAN do, okay? Your attitude will help you as much as exercise and proper eating to win this fight, by losing. WEIGHT, that is!
One more time, how much do you want this Emmy, really? What matters now is the opportunity you have now to lose this weight, once and for all. Take it one step, one day and one POUND at a time! That brand new Emmy wants into your life as much I believe you want her there. Let him IN and don't let your-SELF down, okay?
BELIEVE in yourself, keep fighting and above all else...NEVER GIVE UP on YOU! I promise, I'll be cheering for you, all the way to your goal. Keep me posted on how GOOD you are doing, okay? And, one more time, Emmy, you CAN do it! It's NOT too late to make your weight-loss dream come true. It's just TIME!
Your Friend,
Richard

So, with this in mind I knew these past two week I started to do it again, so guess what I got my tail back in the game yes I have had a few bad days but it is up to me to get it down. So I am here to tell you I will do this!!! I may fall alot but I'll dust myself off and get back up.

I then got another email from his staff asking me to be a guest on his Sirrus radio show on Sunday Jan 27, 2008, today between 1-2 he will call me. I'm scared but excited, I'll interview with him for about 15 minutes.

I also got a nice packet to help me on my journey, the three emphasis was eating right with in your calories count; exercise and attitude!!! ATTITUDE if you think you will fail you will if you think you CAN you will try you may fail but get back up and try again, my way of looking at this is that I have lost 32# and kept it off!!

**Update**
Spoke with Richard, wow, he is amazing we talked about my diabetes (that is what the show was about today) & my PCOS Insulin resistant. We talked about what I was doing now to keep myself going, I told him about exercising and watching my poritons and food intake. Planning meals and just staying positive. It was a really good talk and he wanted me to keep him posted on my progress I am to report back to him a in a few weeks. that is great because I want to stay accountable and I can't let myself or him down as well. I know I can do this, for the first time in my life I really feel good and positve. I know I love food and in the past food has always comforted me, but now I choose for food not to be my crutch.

This is something I have to keep reminding myself about. I tend to say I eat bad because of something someone else has done but ultimately.....the choice is mine.

Here's to a great 2008.

Feeling Good

Friday, December 14, 2007

Feeling great, lost 4# this week and I started my cardio exercising today. 20 minutes each day, did my 20 for the day.

New Attitude!!!! Back To Basics

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

I feel out of control with food lately so i am going back to the basic, noting every little thing i put in my mouth and keeping track calorie wise. I have to do this if I plan on losing. I have been playing this past year and I'm tired, I really need to push myself, I've lost a total of 34.5# and it had been higher but I have sabbotoged myself left and right so, enough is enough. I need to get it done!! No emotional eatz and I will exercise, no more exercise excuses!!

WWAY TO GO Emmy! You CAn do it - you are worth it! Stick to your plan to keep your portions in check and log everything! It takes up to 21 days to make a habit, so hang in there. Once it's habit again, you won't even notice. Good luck!
