I need all the help I can get!!!

Love that picture, for me that may be the only thing that works for along period of time..lol
I just was fighting the workout thing for as long as I could. I sound like a baby, but I have never been a "mover" except for dancing..love to go dancing!!!

I did start doing Zumba a few times on xbox but gets very boring for me.. maybe if I take a real class I would love it!

And as for the all protein Diet .. well it did work for me right away, but not long term.. I just can't give up everything forever.. so I need a life change in portion control and better choices.. Sorry Atkins .. emoticon It just didn't work.. and I do not feel as good as I did and I am way more bloated!! witch I hate!!!

So back to my original plan but better foods!

Sorry I have not yet vloged. But I can tell you that I have lost 5lbs. ROCK IT!
Eating 50g. of protein with-in 30min of waking is the trick.. you just can't get hungry!
I do feel a sort-of headache, and lil tired, also I sweat allot last night. But this is all going by the book. It seems to be at night that the most repairing happens. So this is what is suppose to happen!
Hey I am loosing and feel (not heavy) which is what I love most about watching what I eat!

So I will keep you informed and thanks for reading!

    WOOHOO!!! Congratulations on the 5 lbs!!!!
Yeah....the 50 grams of protein for breakie was what threw me off a little...I know I am supposed to but wow..that is a lot. What are you eating? I can't eat eggs anymore for some reason so it makes it hard and I can only eat so much cottage cheese...:)
You vlog only when you are comfortable doing so - I'll still be here!
Really..I am soooo excited for you!!!!

Well Good morning all! It is a beautiful day here in sunny Minnesota, which makes this a great day to be open to new and exciting ideas.. ok the idea is not so new , but very new to me.

We have all heard of the "Atkins diet" or know someone who has done it. I have a sister who lost allot of weight following it. And I remember being at a grocery store and a lil old lady stopping me and saying she lost 80lbs eating a lb of bacon every morning..!!! I was like your going to kill yourself.. emoticon You might as well be smoking cigs. and drinking your life away.. because we have been taught this .. and all the diets we have read and studied and tried! Right.. , low carb we all agree with .. but all that fat-NO

Well I was always telling my sister how BAD her diet was.. and how my teachers (who happen to be the dept. head of 2 major hospitals here) would say its not good for you... well

I am starting: on a very serious version of this for 8 weeks!
RULES:
1. eat within 30 min. of getting up
2. Because of my size- between 50-70 g. of protein for my first meal.
3. 3 meals a day and 4-5 hrs before bed time no eating.
4. for starting out no nuts or fruit (or very little)
5. and when not hungry do not eat. except in the morning -YOU MUST
6. coconut oil and real butter (GOOD)
7. can have olive oil but -do not warm it! Only drizzle over food) something about how when its heated it brakes down...
8.25-30 (can be up to 50) just because of my size, and eat most carbs in the morning.

and that's about IT!

So I know like myself there are allot of people who will read this and think -
SHE IS KILLING HERSELF
But I have already starved, pills, shakes, healthy clean, and the list goes on and on..
and I have a client who started this last time in October just as I did and she is done with the loosing and now has to maintain..
I know the slower you loose the longer you may keep it off! we have all heard that over and over and it is true because of the fact, you had more time to train your mind and body on a new way of life..

oh I have been loosing , but for the last mo or so very very slow.. a lb. a week.
So I am off to start a new journey with Dr. Jack Kruse.com
He is a neurologist and was a dentist in his past.

"LIFE CHANGE" will work.

You can reply to his blog and by the end of the day he will answer you! Its a very great thing.
I -with my family's history of Dr. and more Dr's , like allot of you, never has anyone of the Dr. I have met gotten back to me so fast!

I am going to start a vlog and put my first ever picture of my self on spark! To keep track of my progress good or bad..

    I am so very late commenting but I wanted to tell you that after I read your blog I went on to check out Dr. Kruse's website - I ended up spending hours reading through it! So much info to take in but all very interesting! I am trying to take some of his theories and apply them to my "diet". I am anxious to hear how it is going for you...:) I am ALSO anxious to see your very first vlog!!!!!! :)

    Your plan sounds great... I don't eat in the morning all of the time. I haven't found that it causes me any problems with my Leptin levels, etc.... But everyone is different and we have to tweak the variables to suit our own unique physiology... It's sometimes takes trial and error to find that right balance. It has taken me years to find that the Paleo/Primal lifestyle is the one for me. However, I am following a hybrid of them, and as the Primal diet allows, an 80/20 approach to the diet. I include some non-paleo/primal foods in my diet based also on Paleo 2.0, but I only do this on the days that I need more carbs because of intense workouts, i.e., strength training... on the days that I have intense workouts, I try to keep my carbs under 100, or just up to 100 grams... On the other days, between: 50 - 75... my protein: 70 - 140; fat: 40 - 60... I am still playing around with the macros.

The First

So as you can see from my Title, this is my first blog entry. Like other blogs I have read I feel that I am just not important, or what I have to say is not that important enough to blog. But I Have come to the conclusion that this is about my journey and who am I to decide what helps others and I believe it will help me!

So here we go:::::

I am 44 and married(2cond). I Have 3 college aged children. and I work as a stylist in a rental salon.
The reason I started loosing weight wasn't for health reasons, every time I have been to the Doctor I get a clean bill of health, its strange either I have great Dr. or something because I Have never been told to loose weight, once I was told that I could start on a elliptical, because that is what my Dr. has done for herself. But never told you need to loose ...
And I do believe sometimes they look at me when they meet me for the first time and think ya she is a overweight person who has high everything. But then the tests come back and all is good.
So what I am saying is I have not started on this journey because of health reasons,
It's because I just got tired of feeling stuffed!!!!
Stuffed in : MY Clothes
: MY Car
:Rides at the Fairs
:Airplanes
: My Station at work
: Working with my Clients
: Trying To Wash my clients hair and hitting the knob on the faucet and making the
water hotter or colder. lol with my stomach.
And so many other things.....
Things only others in my situation could understand, things that I don't like to feel , tell, or even account for on a daily basics!
So that is why I have started, its very scary because I Have been over weight my whole life, I have been up and down and down and up. I have tried -weight loss clinic -cost $400 back in 1985, I have done diet pills and have gotten addicted to working out. to the point that if I didn't get in my 1hr at least every day I couldn't sleep. I can't believe that was me. lol I have tried the shakes, no fat, no carbs, counting calories ect..... but everytime I would gain it all back and add at the least 10 more lbs to the starting weight!!!! So now I was very afraid to do this again... but I had to you see I had been gaining 10 lbs per year for the past 4yrs.. just eating whatever I want, Chocolate mostly and pop.. yes I read or heard somewhere that Diet pop (which I was addicted to) was very bad for you and that if you are going to drink pop at all you should drink the sugary stuff. That diet pop had something in it that would stop you from loosing any weight. So I proceeded to drink the full calorie option..lol yeah way better for you right!!!
So I am off I Have lost 26lbs so far, and most of them from fat.. I have been checking in with the clinic where they tell me how much and of what I have lost. And each time testing my resting metabolism. This has helped me the most knowing where and when to stop. knowing that if i go over 1800 cal its gaining not sustaining .. and that the Dr. said I can still eat anything I want just have to do portion control!!! Those few little words made such a BIG impact on me.. ANYTHING I WANT.... It just clicked .. I CAN and WILL DO This!!! and I have been.. I am with most people I have read about .. I know this is for the rest of my life and I am not in this to loose fast fast fast.. just forever..

so goes the journey......

    Hi Dynnette, Great first blog! I wrote my very first one yesterday and felt similar to you. I also have come to realize through this program that I was suffering from portion distortion! I wish you all the best for continued success and congratulations on the 26 lbs!
