Tweaking Today

Friday, July 05, 2013

Just got back from vacation and then celebrated 4th of July by taking my 90 year old mother-in-law that is in a wheelchair to her reunion over 2 hours away. It was an adventure, to say the least, but she remembers parts of it and some of the people there, so that was good! While I didn't do awful regarding food, it wasn't good either. I decided to plan ahead by cutting down on previous meals, but I didn't turn down wine, pie, and ribs! And yesterday, who could resist the best macaroni and cheese in the world? We got home around 6 p.m. and it was hot and very humid, but I did get both some strength and cardio in, so I am patting myself on the back! Now just to get through the bridal shower tomorrow which I am hosting, but not cooking, thankfully! It is so much easier to stay in control when you are on a consistent schedule, but I am learning to plan ahead and, since life is all about these occasions, figure it out! For now, I am going to plan and tweak, plan and tweak, so I don't go backwards! In honor of the beach part of my vacation ---

Not like you went wild......looks fine to me....moderate yet enjoyable on the food. Just drink more water today and do an extra 20 really fast walking minutes -- vigorously

Everything I Wanted!

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

About 10 days ago I posted a blog about anticipating my vacation and called it, "All I Ever Needed." It was what I needed AND wanted: beach, mountains, family, old friends, new friends, anticipated and unanticipated days, but always joyful. I am sad to have it end, but ready to get going again. I have decided that I am not going to worry if I have to ease myself back into the routine! Feeling very tired and jet lagged right now, but headed to the store for healthy foods and plan to do a light workout at least!

"Vacation, all I ever wanted. Vacation, had to get away." - The Go-Go's

Hmmm...should we go to the beach or the mountains? Let me think...BOTH! First, the beach for a few days by ourselves and then to the mountains to see our son. Perfect! Thought this school year would never end. Not the kids, but our admin and NYS. Since NYS isn't going anywhere with the new Common Core and apparently our whole admin team isn't going anywhere, it will be Round 2 in September (or August for me). Already begun thinking about what my most at risk kids will need in August, but for now, vacation, here i come. Whoo-Hoo!

Noble Art!

Thursday, June 20, 2013

This motto is going to be in front of me for the next two days until I board a plane at 6:30 on Saturday! Lots of "have-to-do" things before I am done tomorrow at 3:00. I hate paperwork, but that will be done first. Everything that has to be boxed up before the cleaners can come in, second. Pretty much the rest of the stuff, not so important. So I am fine with that! Exercise has not happened the past two days and will probably not happen tonight, but I realized yesterday that when exercise becomes a major source of stress, it's defeating its purpose! I am doing a LOT of walking, however, back and forth to our office, the district office, and other people's rooms, etc. Have a thoughtful Thursday!

When I moved into this house - lots of packing, walking back and forth, etc. I lost 15 pounds without exercising!

So, you may be pleasantly surprised how many calories you burn when you move!

Have a blessed evening! emoticon
