There are things in my icebox I used to love that now the sight of them turns my stomach. Most are so good for me, too, like broccoli. It seems to be everything in that category - brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower are also offensive to me. I still love my other greens - spinach, collards, etc., thankfully. I'm not too keen on eggs these days, either.
Spices are another thing that has changed. I loved curry. Now I hide the curry powder in the back of the cupboard.
I was cooking with lots of flavor. All of a sudden I want simple. Maybe it's the nip in the air. Maybe my body is on a level it should be on. I want to sip cocoa in the evenings (my 77 cal loaded with vitamin and minerals and protien). I want a peice of cinnamon toast in the morning. I love to have a pot of veggie soup simmering on the stove with fresh-out-of the-oven multi-grain bread. I'm off the butter, too, seems so greasy on the tongue.
Salt? oh, no! Things seems so salty to me. It inspired me to go through my spice cabinet. Out went meat tenderizers, an msg product, and any seasoning with salt in it.
The healthier I eat, the more I hear my body tell me what it needs. I'm liking this!
As for where I eat, that has changed too. I now set out placemats and crystal water glasses on the table each night. Hubby and I are eating sans tv and computer. Even the animals have to be in the other room. I'm loving the new lifestyle!
